For the town in HD Universe, see Montgomery (HD Universe).
Montgomery is a rural town of Red County, San Andreas, that appears in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Description[]
Montgomery is located in northern Red County, just three miles from Bone County. It is connected to the Montgomery Intersection, via a major highway, to Las Venturas to the north and Los Santos to the south.
There is a sign just outside Montgomery which claims that the town's population is 3,623. The town appears to have a relatively high population compared to its size. Most residents are working class whites and rednecks. Montgomery is an essential hub in Red County due to its central location, medical center (the only such facility in Red County), and many businesses.
Influence[]
The town of Montgomery appears to be based on Visalia, California, being located between two towns based on Modesto and Bakersfield, having fields and farms nearby, and Fern Ridge overlooking the town is quite similar to the Sierra Nevada overlooking Visalia. It could also be inspired by Wrightwood, California due to the town being in a forested area and due to its location relative to Los Santos being similar to Wrightwood's relative to Los Angeles.
