"I thought they were sending professionals. I collaborate and nearly get a shiv for the pleasure. Just give me gun."
―Rashkovsky as he is broken out of prison.

Professor Maxim Rashkovsky (Russian: Максим Рашковский) is a minor character added to Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Heists Update.

Biography

Background

Rashkovsky used to be the head of research for the army. He and Dima Popov owned a pharmaceutical company that controlled the Humane Labs and Research facility. Rashkovsky has three doctorates and is also a vain sociopath, egomaniac, control freak, weapon developer, engineer, geneticist and car nut according to Agent 14. He is also described by Agent 14 as being "definitely not a people person".

Events of Grand Theft Auto Online

By 2013, Rashkovsky is incarcerated and sent to Bolingbroke Penitentiary accused of espionage. Agent 14 says that he did commit the crime and is a traitor, but they still need him for a future operation. As said by the Agent: "Money talks and the professor will walk."

The players are then tasked with retrieving Rashkovsky's Casco from the Port of Los Santos and killing his old business associate and two lawyers that are against the professor. Eventually the crew break him out of the prison and he escapes the country by plane.

It is later revealed that Rashkovsky was needed for The Humane Labs Raid, as he provided schematics from the facility that helped Agent 14 and his team come up with a plan to infiltrate the place.

Trivia

  • Maxim Rashkovsky's physical appearance is very similar to Walter White from the TV Series Breaking Bad. However, his appearance is more likely to be based on the character of Cyrus from the movie Con Air.
  • During The Prison Break on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Grand Theft Auto Online, Rashkovsky wears spectacles (with the right lens broken) and is bloodied, but on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions he wears no glasses and is clean. However this wasn't the case before the GTA Online: Lowriders Update and is most likely a bug.
  • It could be possible that Rashkovsky fled to South America, as Agent 14 mentioned that his driver is preparing herself for a 40 hour drive to South America after the players retrieved Rashkovsky's car.
