The Vom Feuer Marksman Rifle Mk II is a weapon that appears in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Doomsday Heist update.
Design
Grand Theft Auto Online
The weapon is the Mark II version of the Marksman Rifle. Notable changes are a squared forend and a stock identical to an Archangel Precision Stock, giving it a similar appearance to the Springfield M1A Loaded. The gun employs straighter magazines with a Magpul-type PMAG Ranger Plate.
Performance
Grand Theft Auto Online
The Marksman Rifle Mk II slightly improves over the regular Marksman Rifle in damage (from 65 to 75), with the same rate of fire. It also retains its +39% damage against players, as well as the overperforation ability (that can hit an enemy through one or several others).
With the heavy barrel applied, long-range damage falls to 50% of point blank damage (as for other Mk II weapons) instead of 30% for most weapons. This gives more potential at dealing with targets at around its maximum range of 1,000m.
It is possible to replace the default fixed-zoom sniper scope with a red-dot scope. This no longer gives a sniper aim, but a regular weapon aim, transforming the weapon into a combat rifle that outranges most weapons. It is a tradeoff of long-range accuracy and target spotting, for situational awareness and close-and-mid-range aiming. Its auto-aim range seems to be lower than most assault rifles (likely as a result of gameplay balance or shared data with the other sniper rifles, despite not having standard aiming). When used in covers, the weapon may experience a slight fire rate boost, firing 2-3 bullets quickly.
The weapon has access to the following ammo types:
- Tracer rounds, which only have an aesthetic effect. A tracer round is shot every three bullets, with the last two being also tracer rounds. Overall capacity is 320 rounds (40 magazines).
- Incendiary rounds, which have higher chances of setting enemies on fire, though not 100%.
- Armor Piercing rounds, which increase damage over armored targets. This helps at taking out armored enemies easily, increasing the weapon's overall effectiveness.
- Full Metal Jacket rounds, which improve damage over vehicles and can penetrate bullet-resistant windows. This can be useful against unarmored vehicles and aircraft in general, though it is rather limited due to the low ammo capacity.
Note that specialized ammo magazines have a reduced capacity of 5 rounds, with an overall capacity of 80 rounds (16 magazines).
