This page documents the Official GTA Wiki Manual of Style on images and galleries.
Formatting[]
Images[]
An article should always feature at least one image, however this may not always be possible (for example, on articles covering certain unseen, beta or leaked content).
The standard wikitext formatting for images is [[:File:Image name.png|thumb|right|270px|Caption text.]]
.
Master images[]
A master image (or main image) is an image positioned at the top right of a page.
Master images are usually used if an infobox is neither present nor necessary. List articles do not require a master image (for example, Vehicles in GTA V).
Master images must:
- Be 300px wide
- Be aligned to the right (default)
- Be formatted as a thumbnail
- Include a short, relevant caption which includes the article's title in bold (see MOS:FORMAT)
- Follow the general file upload conventions (be high quality, 16:9 ratio, high resolution, etc).
Master images should not:
- Be included if an infobox is already present (if it does, the master image should be moved to the infobox)
- Occur more than once
Miserable Bankers is a musical in The Ballad of Gay Tony advertised in Star Junction. Description According to the advertisement, the play is sponsored by BAWSAQ. It was rated two stars. The subtitle says "nous sommes fucked" - meaning "We are fucked". The play cannot be seen by the player and plays no rule in the storyline.
The musical is most likely a reference to the Financial crisis of 2007–2008. Its name is a play on the British terms "miserable wankers".
Supporting images[]
Supporting images are any images which are placed loosely within the article body but not found in galleries or templates. These are usually used in writing space to support text.
In general, it is not recommended to place images loosely within articles as their position within the article may shift depending on the reader's screen size and platform. Supporting images may also spread content out unnecessarily or cause text to wrap incorrectly if they are not set to a suitable size.
For large paragraph text, such as Plot sections of GTA game articles, one or two supporting images may be used to reinforce any key points.
Supporting images should:
- Be 270px wide
- Be aligned to the right (default)
- Be formatted as a thumbnail
- Include a short caption which is relevant to the section or paragraph it accompanies
- Follow the general file upload conventions (be high quality, 16:9 ratio, high resolution, etc).

Galleries[]
Where an article has multiple images, it is usually necessary to contain the remaining images in a gallery. The wikitext formatting for a standard gallery is:
<gallery position="center" spacing="small" widths="270px"> File name 1.png|Caption text 1. File name 2.png|Caption text 2. File name 3.png|Caption text 3. </gallery>
An article's main gallery should always be placed under a "Gallery" heading (see MOS:HEAD) and is usually positioned somewhere in the middle of the overall article, depending on the article's specific layout. A standard gallery has no limitation on the number of images it can contain, however, it is recommended to split galleries up with sub headings if it becomes bulky.
Gallery images should:
- Be 270px (
widths="270px"
; if there are three or fewer images) or 250px (default, four images or more) - Be aligned to the center (
position="center"
) - Be formatted as a thumbnail (default)
- Have small spacing (
spacing="small"
) - Include a short caption which is relevant to the image
- Follow the general file upload conventions (be high quality, 16:9 ratio, high resolution, etc)
- Not be customized (custom border/background colors, fonts, etc).
