This page documents the Official GTA Wiki Manual of Style on censoring content.
Formatting
Certain words and types of content must be censored in order for GTA Wiki to comply with Fandom Terms of Use and Fandom Community Guidelines. This is not by choice of the GTA Wiki Staff.
Words
Derogatory terms, phrases or words, such as sexist, racist, homophobic, xenophobic and some stereotypes must be censored. As expected, there is no official list on which terms are not permitted on the platform, but editors will know if they encounter one on an existing page revision as the Spam filter will prevent a new edit from being published unless the term is removed.
While Fandom does not explicitly state what best practice is in this regard, censoring such words or terms by replacing a vowel with a single asterisk (*
) has been deemed acceptable by the Spam filter.
Images and videos
See also: Manual of Style:File uploads
Images and videos depicting gore, bloody violence, full and sometimes partial nudity must be censored. Blurring out the subject of such content, such as blurring out body parts or blood, is deemed acceptable.
Articles containing censored images should contain a {{Content Advisory}} tophat template at the relevant section.
