Madame Faux Pas Spoon Up is a French restaurant in Grand Theft Auto IV, Episodes from Liberty City, and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, located in Northwood, Algonquin, Liberty City.

Description[]

The restaurant is located on Exeter Avenue, in the Northwood neighborhood of the Liberty City borough of Algonquin.

Influence[]

The business is a rendition of Miss Maude's Spoonbread Too and Miss Mamie's Spoonbread Too, which once formed a two-location chain of soul food restaurants in Harlem, Manhattan, with the latter still operating as a single establishment.[1][2] The restaurant's sign and storefront textures are based on the former, with the two strawberries on the sign replaced by two croissants to highlight its French theme in-game.

Trivia[]

  • A faux pas is an inappropriate act or remark that typically leads to embarrassment in a social situation. The term literally translates to "false step" in French.
