The Ludendorff Ranch is an unnamed ranch that appears in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online, located in Ludendorff, North Yankton.
Description[]
The ranch is located near Cavalry Boulevard, to the north of The Ludendorff Beaver landmark. It consists of snowy fields, a farm house, a barn and a haybale storage, all inaccessible to the player. A railroad runs through the ranch. There are dirty tracks to the west of the farm house that lead to the Ludendorff Church and Cemetery. A Christmas tree is visible on one of the windows of the farm house.
In both games, this area cannot be explored by normal means, as any movement during the farm house shootout in the Prologue will trigger the cutscene and the mission completion, and leaving Cavalry Boulevard to explore surrounding areas in Bury the Hatchet will automatically fail the mission.
In Grand Theft Auto Online, the ranch is visible from afar during the Ludendorff Cemetery Survival, although it cannot be reached by normal means.
Replicas of the barn and haybale storages found at the ranch can be spotted in other areas of Ludendorff.

Events of Grand Theft Auto V[]
In 2004, notorious bank robber Michael Townley sets up a deal with FIB agent Dave Norton in exchange of a new identity for him and his family. The plan was to ambush and kill his accomplice Trevor Philips, a most wanted criminal in the Midwestern United States, while Michael Townley himself would fake his death. While Dave Norton would be getting the fame and boosting his career in the bureau for "killing Michael Townley", Michael and his family would start a new life somewhere else.
They both set up the ambush location at the ranch near Cavalry Boulevard. Michael's plan is to lure Trevor into the ambush during a cash depot robbery, making him believe there is a getaway helicopter is stored in the area. However, during the day of the robbery, their accomplice Brad Snider is accidentally shot instead by agent Norton due to him moving in front of Trevor at the same moment Norton pulled the trigger, thus ruining their plan. Agent Norton fires again, this time at Michael, who falls to the ground. He behaves as if he is critically injured and bleeding out, though he has no visible injuries. Before "dying", Michael tells Trevor to go on without him.
Trevor eventually flee the scene after being overrun by a large number of police officers. After taking a resident of the ranch hostage, Trevor exclaims to the police officers that he will kill her if they get any closer. However, shortly after, Trevor lets her go and escapes into the snowy fields while still being pursued by armed police officers.
While the plan was ruined, Dave Norton still gets the glory as the man who killed Michael Townley, while Michael moves to sunny Los Santos with his family and a new name - Michael De Santa, unknowingly his old partner in crime Trevor Philips also escaped to the same state as him after the incident.
