Los Santos Prison is an unnamed prison[1] in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas located in Commerce, Los Santos.

Description[]

The building is located in Commerce just south of the Los Santos Freeway. The Los Santos Fire Station is found at the other side of the freeway.

The building is both unmentioned and unnamed in the storyline; however, the model of the prison is named after its real life inspiration, specifically twintjail1_lan, suggesting the building is intended to represent a prison.

The layout consists of 5 levels, including the ground floor with a front driveway, a second level above that, and three more levels set further back in two separate pairs of hexagonal prism-shaped towers. On both street sides are service doors, presumably serving as access to storage, as well as an entrance gate followed by a long alleyway. The alleyways leads down to the rear yard bordered by tall concrete walls. The driveway holds a large entrance building with doors on the north east face, and barbed wire tops the roof edges.

The complex if fronted by two tall trees and a bush within a flower bed on the corner of the intersection.

Influence[]

As implied by its internal file name, the prison is inspired by the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, California, although the real-life counterpart wasn't opened until 1997, five years after the game's setting.
