Leaf Links is a golf course and country club[1] in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories based on a chain of islands in Vice City, Florida.
Description[]
Located just west of Vice City Beach, it is surrounded by water and condominiums, and is a major attraction for the wealthy. Golfers are constantly seen in the area. Caddies and Golf Clubs spawn around the course, and a Comet spawns outside the clubhouse on the driveway. Two Patrol Invest Group guards, armed with nightsticks, stand at the entrance.
Firearms and other weapons (with the exception of brass knuckles) are not permitted on the course, and a metal-detector is located at the entrance, which automatically strips all weapons from the player and leaves them to be collected outside. However, only six weapons will be left outside, so if the player has more than six weapons in their inventory then not all will be returned.
It is possible to gain access to the course without being searched by climbing onto a high enough vehicle and jumping over the fence next to the clubhouse. In GTA Vice City Stories, the player can simply jump over one of the fences to the left or right of the entrance. It is also possible to reach the course by water or air.
Influence[]
The real-life equivalent to Leaf Links may be the Indian Creek Country Club in Miami-Dade County. The name "Leaf Links" appears to be a reference to Leith Links, a park in Edinburgh, Scotland. Rockstar North is located in Edinburgh, and the game of golf originated in Scotland.

Trivia[]
- One of the development drawings for Vice City did not feature Leaf Links.
- In both games, entering any of the caddies on the golf course will give the player a free golf club, provided that their melee weapons slot is empty.
