Whoa! I'm sorry bro. She said you had an arrangement.
— Kyle to Michael De Santa.

Kyle Chavis is a character in the Grand Theft Auto series who appears as a key supporting character in Grand Theft Auto V. He was Amanda De Santa's tennis coach and lover.

I'm a tennis coach, I hit balls for a living.
— Kyle Chavis

Kyle is a tennis coach that uses his job to have sex with wealthy men's wives, like Amanda and many others. Before becoming a tennis coach, Chavis was ranked 42nd in the 14-16 range in tennis.

As determined from his Lifeinvader page, he is obsessed with sex and is depressed about his decisions in life to become a tennis coach.

At some point prior to the events of GTA V, he was in a relationship with Elisa Macallen, however, she broke up with him after surprising him at work - presumably discovering him engaging in sex with a client.[1]

He is an extremely cowardly person, as he ran, rather than face Michael directly after he was discovered having sex with Amanda. Also, he can be seen cowering in fear if he and Amanda discover Franklin during the mission Complications.

He is a neighbor of Mexican gangster Martin Madrazo, living across the street from his stilt house. This is implied by the house containing several tennis rackets and balls scattered around. Additionally, if the player keeps close to Kyle during the chase on Marriage Counseling, he will drive to and park at this location.

Events of Grand Theft Auto V

Mr. De Santa! What the hell? That's not my house!
— Kyle to Michael after the latter pulls down Martin Madrazo's deck

Kyle is caught by Michael while presumably having sex with Amanda. Before Kyle could explain himself, Michael gets angry and threatens Kyle, forcing him to jump from the Michael's bedroom's balcony. In desperation, Kyle drives to Martin Madrazo's house, where Natalia Zverovna is living, but is pursued by Michael and Franklin (Franklin having arrived as Kyle fled Michael's house). After exchanging words with each other, Michael orders Franklin to tear down the mansion's deck with a pickup truck by attaching a winch to one of the stilts. After pulling it down, Kyle, who safely fled, calls Michael to tell him that the deck he'd just destroyed wasn't his. Michael then receives an unfriendly visit from Martin Madrazo, who threatens Michael's life and demands that he pays for the damage he caused. Kyle does not appear again after this.

Afterwards, Kyle will post on Michael's Lifeinvader apologizing and promising to comp the session. He will also post on Bleeter, complaining about jealous husbands and their mid-life crises.

Sometime later, if Michael calls Amanda, she reveals that she had not heard from Kyle since the incident. She asks Michael if Kyle is dead, but Michael tells her that he did not kill him.

If Michael calls Jimmy, he asks Michael if it was true that he pulled a house off of a hill and explains that he and Kyle were friends. Michael reveals, much to Jimmy's disgust, that Kyle and Amanda had been having sex, and warns Jimmy not to hang out with him anymore.

Kyle's relationship with Natalia Zverovna is unknown.

Mission Appearances

Grand Theft Auto V

  • It is possible that Kyle is racist towards black people. If he catches Franklin during the mission "Complications", he will immediately shout that there is a black person in the house.
  • Despite his short screen-time, Kyle is indirectly responsible for some of the major events of GTA V. Amanda's affair with him caused Michael to chase him down to Madrazo's property and destroy it, resulting in Madrazo forcing the retired thief to pay him $2,500,000. This caused Michael and Lester to set the Vangelico heist in motion, forced Michael to come out of retirement and be contacted by the FIB, caused Trevor to find out he's still alive after playing dead for nine years, and eventually rob the Union Depository.
  • During Marriage Counseling, his vocabulary and accent hints at the possibility of him being Canadian.
  • His phone number is 611-555-0191.
