Where Liberty City's elite come to avoid people like you.
—GTA IV Official Website

Jousters is an upper-class social club in Grand Theft Auto IV, Episodes from Liberty City and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars located in Middle Park East, Algonquin, Liberty City.

Description[]

The club occupies a historical low-rise on Columbus Avenue between Obsidian Street and Pyrite Street, just next door to Yusuf Amir's upscale apartment. Jousters is depicted as a blue blood affair where Liberty City's elite mingle with politicians while sitting in saunas or enjoying an afternoon cordial and a cigar. They said in a statement to the press that Jouster's is "a club for gentlemen, not genetic confusions" when a transgender man was denied access and tried to sue them.

The Lost and Damned[]

In The Lost and Damned, the club boasts at least three interiors used in cutscenes, namely the lobby, sauna, and massage room. Classical music can be heard in the lobby and will also emanate from the building when outside, if the player walks close to the main entrance of the building. It is also common to find a doorman pedestrian at the entrance.

The club is frequented by Thomas Stubbs, who is depicted patronizing the club's facilities in Politics and Off Route, which include a massage room and sauna. Leavis is depicted as the club's maître d', initially berating Johnny for his confrontational behavior, but finally warming up to him after learning Stubbs invited him in.

Influence[]

The building is based on the Consulate General of France at 934 5th Avenue in the Upper East Side, Manhattan, New York City.
