Johnny Zoo is a main character in Grand Theft Auto 2.
History[]
Background[]
Johnny Zoo is the leader of the Yakuza in Anywhere City. He has an extensive criminal record in Japan, which the Anywhere City Police Department are unable to obtain. In 1995, he was arrested on suspicion of multiple murders in a noodle bar. He was arrested again in 1996 for possession of illegal firearms and was sentenced to six months in jail. He was arrested in 1997 for the Hello Sushi Bar Massacre but was bailed for $2 million. In 1998, he was alleged to have connections to a huge cocaine and amphetamine smuggling operation, as well as arms theft and dealing. He may be related to Danny Zoo (another Yakuza member), dates Hana Funabashi, and has a tattoo of a polar bear on his back. He is also known by the name "Johnny Ice".

Green Phone Jobs[]
Zoo is one of the first three employers of Claude Speed and is a big car collector. The Yakuza are feuding with the Zaibatsu Corporation and Zoo employs Claude to help destroy the Zaibatsu. Later, he employs him to deliver Doctor ZitZaki, who Zaibatsu boss Trey Welsh put a hit on, to the new Yakuza J-Lab, and work as a getaway driver for his inside man Hiroshi after he transferred illegal money to Zoo's bank account.
Yellow Phone Jobs[]
After earning respect from the Yakuza, Johnny gives more jobs for Claude. He hires him to collect money from the Loonies gang who owe him money, but it ends up being an ambush. Johnny tells Claude to steal an Ice-Cream Van, rig it with explosives and use it to blow up the Loonies' Happy Gas tanks near the Sunnyside Asylum.
Johnny also hires Claude to deliver Gama Rei to a hideout while being attacked by Loony hitmen, and to murder three Yakuza traitors alongside the Yakuza ancient torturer Refried Noodle.
Red Phone Jobs[]
Later, Johnny hires Claude to steal a SWAT Van for him as revenge on the police for impounding his favorite car, which causes the Military to send a Tank after Johnny's collection of exotic cars. Claude manages to destroy the Tank on route and kill the army guards protecting it.
Death[]
Unbeknownst to Johnny, Claude has been working behind his back this whole time, as he was hired by Zaibatsu boss Trey Welsh and the Loony boss Elmo. While working for the Zaibatsu, Claude blew up an armored Yakuza Miara transporting Zaibatsu kidnapped biologist Doctor Cubana before he gave any secret information on the Zaibatsu to Johnny's Yakuza gang, destroyed the Yakuza J-Lab and started a large-scale gang war between the Yakuza and the Zaibatsu under orders of Elmo.
In addition, Claude was also killing Johnny Zoo's Yakuza to gain respect from the Loonies and get more jobs from Elmo.
Eventually, Johnny realizes he and the Yakuza were being manipulated by Claude this whole time, and goes after him. Meanwhile, Elmo and Trey Welsh also find out they are being played by Claude and also go hunting for him. Shortly after, all three bosses track down Claude around the Downtown District.
Johnny arrives in a Yakuza Miara armed with an S-Uzi Machine Gun, but is ultimately killed by either Claude Speed in self-defense or by his rival gang bosses.
