Job Points or JP are points that are earned after completing a job in Grand Theft Auto Online. JP is awarded after every job, but plays its biggest role in playlists; the person with the highest amount of Job Points at the end of the playlist wins.

In missions

In Races and Deathmatches, Job Points are awarded as follows:

  • 1st place: 15 JP
  • 2nd place: 12 JP
  • 3rd place: 10 JP
  • 4th place: 8 JP
  • 5th place: 7 JP
  • 6th place: 6 JP, etc

When in a mission, players will get 15 JP by default for successfully completing the mission. If a player completed the main task during a mission (eg: collect the documents for Rooftop Rumble), they will receive 16 JP. This principle also applies to Deathmatches, where the Most Valuable Player will be awarded an additional Job Point (16 total for an MVP on the winning team).

JP will be displayed in GTA Online sessions beside the player's name. When swapping or leaving sessions, it will be reset to 0 JP.

Job Points are used to determine tiebreakers on the job selection menu. For example, if there is a lobby of 10 people, and 5 vote for one job and 5 vote for the other, the side with the largest sum of JP will be the one that gets the ruling.
