James Newell Osterberg, Jr. (born on April 21, 1947 in Muskegon, Michigan), better known as Iggy Pop, is an American singer, musician, songwriter, radio broadcaster and voice actor.
Career[]
Iggy Pop is best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band The Stooges. He was often dubbed the "Godfather of Punk" by many in the music industry.
He appears as himself as the host of Liberty Rock Radio in Grand Theft Auto IV and Episodes from Liberty City.
His Attitude[]
In between songs and the Liberty Rock jingle, Iggy often has his opinion about drugs, terrorism, women, today's music, and the time of day/weather in Liberty City. He rarely ends his opinions without throwing in slurs of vulgar language ("have a nice day sucking the corporate cock") ("well it's all shit, just plain shit") ("...a type of t'ai chi called fucking like a bandit. Great exercise man, spiritual.") He also mentions a few times of his station that, "I play what I wanna play and say what I wanna say." and, "I don't give a shit if you don't like these songs 'cause I do!" He thinks of himself as a "freedom fighter" and claims rival radio stations are "held by the balls". Iggy has a contempt for research consultants, believing radio stations focus too much on "image" and "appealing to the kids with ironic imaging and self-deprecating humour", instead advising them to "play some fucking music!"
