They are the largest animals in the game, possibly as big as a Benson. They are passive creatures and will not attack the player if encountered. Unlike real whales, they will not spray water from their blowholes. They can be spotted near Del Perro Pier and Paleto Bay but are otherwise quite rare.
Like the rat, the humpback whale cannot be controlled after eating a Peyote Plant.
The humpback whale cannot be killed by heavy weaponry, but will die if washed ashore.
A single beached humpback whale has a 50% chance of spawning on a beach on the northeastern side of Cayo Perico in Grand Theft Auto Online, near a fishing jetty. The whale can be scoped by the Protagonist during Heist Prep: Gather Intel by photographing it, then sending the image to Pavel, who will comment on the player's discovery.
