- "Life isn't about holding onto good things, it's about passing them on. Like inherited wealth, or a sense of entitlement. Or a high-explosive device. In Hot Bomb, one player has the bomb, and the only way to get rid of it is by crashing into someone else. Throw in a timer and a baying crowd, and survival of the fittest just got an upgrade."
In Hot Bomb, players compete to remain the last man (or team) standing. Upon loading, the host has the option between making the mode a "Last Team Standing" or "Last Man Standing" game-mode. In Last Team Standing, players are split into two teams and one team has to work together to eliminate the other. Depending on whether or not the host of the match enables "Team Balancing", players can switch between teams before the game starts. With Team Balancing enabled, the number of total players joined is divided into two, and the option to "Join Team" before loading is disabled.
Players may chose between any of the Arena Ready or Arena Contender vehicles before loading, and, if enabled by the host, select a "Custom" vehicle. This mode is not restricted to any particular Arena War vehicle. With Custom Vehicles enabled, the player is also able to upgrade their vehicle before the match starts.
When the round starts, a random players will be given the bomb. They then have one minute to pass the bomb onto an enemy contender by making contact with their vehicle. After the time has elapsed, the contender carrying the bomb will be destroyed and eliminated from the match. Players who are killed will be forced to spectate from the spectator box. Eliminated players can also use traps, turrets, RC Banditos, and Battle Drones to damage the remaining enemy contenders.
The bomb's timer will gradually decrease in 5-second increments, down to a minimum of thirty seconds. If the player carrying the bomb is destroyed by other means (crashing, other contenders' weapons...), the bomb will be given to another player, but the bomb's timer will not decrease by five seconds.
Once only one player or only players on one team (depending on the game-mode chosen) remain, that player/team will win the round.
There are three variations of Hot Bomb for each Arena War theme: Apocalypse, Future Shock, and Nightmare.
All three maps are open-space and do not consist of any circuits or laps. The pit lane is closed and fences are enabled.
