Hold the Wheel is a Freemode Event available in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Freemode Events Update.
Description[]
When Hold the Wheel becomes available, a vehicle will be marked on the map with a purple vehicle icon 
. The vehicle chosen will be a rather "humble" mode of transport, such as a Fieldmaster, Caddy or Sanchez becomes a target vehicle for players to collect and hold onto for 10 minutes. The players must compete in holding the vehicle for the longest time. Players can either help each other by riding in the same vehicle and/or keeping other players away, or kill the player holding the vehicle and steal it. The vehicle is significantly stronger than in normal gameplay, however it can still be destroyed.
Possible vehicles:
Sudden Death[]
If a player is knocked off/out of the vehicle, killed or otherwise dismounted from it after having taken it, and no one is present in or on the vehicle until the end of the game, the game will enter a 'Sudden Death' phase after the initial event has finished. This will occur immediately after the 30 second countdown and allows all players to retrieve the vehicle within 1 minute. The objective for this stage is to simply enter the vehicle first, and the first player to do so within 1 minute will win the game. Once retrieved, the player does not have to wait until the 60 seconds are complete, and is instantly rewarded as winner.

- Los Santos International Airport, near the main entrance, under a porch.
- Grand Senora Desert, at the end of a cul-de-sac.
- Lectro
- LTD gas station, Richman Glen, Pacific Bluffs.
- Caddy
- Tri-Cycles Race Bike
- End of Del Perro Pier
- Faggio
- BMX
- Atop Hawaiian Snow in Alta, on a skateboard ramp.

Soundtrack[]

The soundtrack that plays during Hold the Wheel is called "Plus One" and was added as part of the Freemode Events Update. It only plays during this Freemode Event.
Another soundtrack named "Sudden Death" will play during the Sudden Death phase after the 30 second Freemode Event countdown has finished playing.
