"Steal a set of lasers that can be used to quietly drill through the vault door."
— Briefing.

Vault Lasers is a mandatory prep mission featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the The Diamond Casino Heist update. It is a freeroam mission needed to progress The Diamond Casino Heist. Completing this setup gives players laser drills to open the vault during the Silent & Sneaky approach.

"If we wanna get in that vault silent and sneaky we're gonna need a military-grade laser. If there's one thing I've learned about the theft of military-grade lasers over the years, it's that you're always better off getting 'em right from the source, as... long as you can deal with all the military. Luckily for you, there's a shipment coming in right now. Pinging you the GPS, now... [hoo-ah], or whatever."
— Lester's briefing.

Lester informs the player that there is a shipment of vault lasers surrounded by a group of military personnel and that the player must go in and take them. This can be in places such as El Burro Heights or the Grand Senora Desert.

Once there, the military are immediately hostile and the player will receive a 4-star wanted level, so the player must fight them off and collect the two drills. Once the player has lost the cops and both drills are delivered to the Arcade, the mission is complete.

Lester Dialogue

"And that, my friends, is the definition of silent and deadly. It'll cut through the vault like it was butter, and no one will hear a thing, unless one of you idiots gets in the way."
— After collecting a vault laser.

Cliffford Mercenaries

"You know, the thing about cults of genetically engineered soldiers working for malevolent neural super-networks is, they don't know when to quit. Which in this case works out for us, because Cliffford's useful idiots have come into possession of just the kind of weapons-grade laser system we need to get into the vault without making a noise. It's wasted on them, frankly. I suggest you take it off their hands."
— Lester's briefing.

Lester informs the player that there is a group of Cliffford Mercenaries, including one Juggernaut, who have the lasers in their possession and that they need to go steal them. The mercenaries can be in places such as the Palmer-Taylor Power Station or Zancudo Treatment Works.

Once there, just like the Military variant of the mission, the Cliffford Mercenaries outside are immediately hostile, so the player must kill all of them before proceeding inside their warehouse. However, no wanted level will be applied. Once inside, there are a few more mercenaries the player must kill before stealing the lasers and delivering them to their Arcade. Once both lasers are delivered, the mission is complete.

Lester's Dialogue

"That should do very nicely indeed. It'll cut through the vault door in just a few seconds, and it'll be so quiet you'll be able to hear your own smug chuckling. Bring her home."
— After collecting a vault laser.
