Put away those shark cards, we need to steal decent getaway vehicles that are in no way associated with our bank accounts, your driver will help.
— Lester's briefing.

Getaway Vehicles is a mandatory prep mission featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the The Diamond Casino Heist update. It is a freeroam mission needed to progress The Diamond Casino Heist.

Once an approach has been chosen for the heist, the player must choose a driver. Each driver has four different possible cars they can source, and once one has been chosen, the mission will begin. The player will be given one of the possible types of the mission. Multiple vehicles need to be stolen, so at least two players are recommended.

Drag Race

When we hit the casino, you'll wanna get out of there quick, right? Good, because your getaway vehicles are competing in a drag race at the airstrip right now! Get over there, interrupt the race and land your new set of wheels.
— Lester's briefing.

Players must travel to either LSIA or the Sandy Shores Airfield, where the required getaway vehicles are participating in a drag race. Once they arrive, the drag race begins, and the players can either chase them down and take the vehicles or wait for them to get back to the start. Once the player attempts to get the vehicles, a few enemies will shoot at them.

After the vehicles are collected, they must be brought back to the Arcade, after which the mission ends.

Lester's Dialogue

You can wait for them to finish the race and drive back to the starting area, but that could take some time. Alternatively, just chase 'em down and hope they don't tear off.
— After arriving at the drag race location.
Quick, ain't she? I can't wait to see her parked in my lair... our lair. Anyway, bring her in.
— After getting in a getaway vehicle.

Illicit Importers

Let's go get your getaway vehicles, huh? They're perfect, untraceable, they're not even legally in the US. Some illicit importers are bringing them through LS.
— Lester's briefing.

Players need to go to a semi-random location, such as Little Bighorn Avenue in Rancho, Chupacabra Street on Elysian Island, or behind Clucking Bell Farms in Paleto Bay. There, they need to take out a crew of smugglers and steal the getaway vehicles.

After they are obtained, they need to be delivered to the Arcade, after which the mission will end. During the drive to the Arcade, the smugglers will give chase in Schafters.

Lester's Dialogue

Looks like these smugglers have already started to unload the containers, makes the logistics somewhat easier, but be ready for some fighting.
— After arriving at the location.
Drive it off the boat... and try not to end up in the water!
— After collecting the getaway vehicle on top of a crate at the cargo ship location.
Okay, get them back here. The getaway vehicle bay's been looking empty.
— After collecting a getaway vehicle.

Lost MC

Since you're big bad bikers, we should see about getting you some getaway bikes. Your driver, Zach, tells me the Lost MC have what we need. Go to their hideout and take a look around.
— Lester's briefing.

This mission is only available if Zach Nelson is employed as the driver. Players must steal the getaway bikes from The Lost MC at a semi-random location, such as Paleto Bay or Seaview Road in Grapeseed. The bikes must first be broken out of Bensons by shooting the locks on the rear door. Once stolen, the vehicles must be delivered to the Arcade, after which the mission ends.

Lester's Dialogue

There's only one way this is gonna go. Take out these Lost MC idiots and try searching those Benson trucks for the bikes.
— After arriving at the location.
The bikes might be in there. Shoot the lock to get the rear door open.
— After getting close to a truck.
I don't need to, uh... tell you it's not in there, so keep looking.
— If an empty truck is found.

Merryweather Shipment

Let's get these getaway vehicles, might be a little more, uh... weaponized since your friend Chester's sourcing 'em. He wants to go after Merryweather shipments. One's in transit and the other's under heavy guard on the runway. You got the deets, make a move on them however you want.
— Lester's briefing.

This mission is only available if Chester McCoy is employed as the driver. Players must steal the getaway vehicles from Merryweather. One of the vehicles is being transported in a convoy, while the other is inside a cargo plane at a semi-random airfield, such as LSIA or the Sandy Shores Airfield, being guarded by Merryweather operatives.

They must be stolen and delivered to the Arcade, after which the mission ends.

Lester's Dialogue

Come to mama, or... papa, or... whatever you wanna call me.
— After stealing the first vehicle.
You there? The getaway vehicle must be inside the cargo plane. Why don't you do 'em a favor and unload it for 'em, eh?
— After arriving at the airfield.

Police Compound

Okay, let's get your getaway vehicles. This might not sound like the best idea, but you're gonna steal 'em off the cops. Trust me on this, it all makes perfect sense, I-I just don't have time to explain it to you. Get over there, sneak into the compound and jack 'em!
— Lester's briefing.

Players are tasked with going to a semi-random police station, such as the one in La Mesa or Rockford Hills, in order to steal getaway vehicles. Once they arrive there, they need to stealthily enter the police warehouse and find the vehicles.

There are police officers patrolling the interior, which must be avoided. Other vehicles may need to be moved to clear a way for the getaway vehicles. Once this is done, players must drive the vehicles out of the warehouse and deliver them to the Arcade; if the police are alerted, a three-star wanted level needs to be evaded before doing so.

Lester's Dialogue

You're gonna wanna keep your head down when you get inside. The place will have cops all over it... technically, they're already all over it. So... if you can get the vehicles outta there without a gunfight, that would be the best-case scenario. You might need to move some of the other cars outta the way first.
— After arriving at the compound.
Now, bring 'em in. We have a nice big bay for it.
— After the warehouse is exited with a vehicle.
I don't mean to be a downer, but you just made things ten times harder for yourself. Get those vehicles outta there as quick as you can!
— If the police is alerted.

Test Site

I'm guessing if you wanted an easy run for an easy getaway car, you wouldn't have chosen Chester as your driver, huh? Good. 'Cause this is gonna be a tricky one. The vehicles are surrounded by Merryweather operatives at one of their testing sites. Most likely, you'll have to go in all guns blazing... I can't see another way. Good luck.
— Lester's briefing.

This mission is only available if Chester McCoy is employed as the driver. Players must travel to a semi-random Merryweather test site, such as one on Elysian Island or on Joshua Road. Once there, they can see many operatives, as well as Insurgent Pick-Ups guarding the getaway vehicles.

It is not required to kill all enemies but is recommended that the players do so. Once the vehicles are stolen, they need to be delivered to the Arcade to complete the mission. Merryweather helicopters will give chase during the drive.

Lester's Dialogue

Oh my, you got it. Get it back here, and try not to bring any mercenaries with ya.
— After getting in a getaway vehicle.

Valet Service

Now, let's see if I can get you handed the keys for your getaway vehicle. Head over to the hotel I just sent ya, and we'll talk some more.
— Lester's briefing.

Players are tasked with going to a semi-random hotel, such as Opium Nights hotel at LSIA or the Banner Hotel & Spa in Del Perro. Once there, they need to make their way to the back of the building and scare off or kill the real valets. After this is done, they need to change into a valet uniform and make their way to the entrance of the hotel.

There, they need to wait for the getaway vehicles to arrive. When they appear, they are advised to wait for the driver to enter the hotel before taking the vehicles. After they are obtained, they need to be delivered to the Arcade, which will end the mission.

Lester's Dialogue

Right, you're gonna be doing some valet work today. Dangerous business, I know, but... you might be okay. So, take a look for the real valets around the back of the hotel.
— After arriving at the hotel.
See 'em? Okay, knock 'em out, or... spook 'em. Or you know, just... get 'em outta the picture.
— After locating the valets.
Very good. Now, there should be a uniform for ya in the back.
— After taking care of the valets.
Looking good. The vehicle we're after's on the way. Get out front and wait for 'em.
— After changing into a valet uniform.
You in place? Good. Okay, okay. Act natural and let them get out before ya take it. You don't want them suspecting anything is up.
— After getting to the entrance of the hotel.
Patience... let them leave before you tear off in that thing.
— When a getaway vehicle arrives.
Nicely done... bring it back to base.
— After getting into a getaway vehicle.

After the vehicles are delivered to the Arcade, they can be seen in the vehicle bay in the basement of the property. The heist leader can enter them and modify them in various upgrade levels.

Upgrade level Cost Upgrades
Level 1 $10,000 Bulletproof tyres
Level 2 $15,000 + race brakes, race transmission, level 4 EMS upgrade
Level 3 $25,000 + turbo and 100% armour
