The Diamond Casino Heist prep board.

Heist Crew Members are minor characters introduced in The Diamond Casino Heist update for Grand Theft Auto Online, who may be hired by the protagonists to assist during The Diamond Casino Heist and The Cayo Perico Heist.

Description

During the heist setup, the player is often required to choose crew members from a variety of gunmen, hackers, and drivers, if they are needed in order to complete the specific requirements of The Diamond Casino Heist. Like the heist crew members in Grand Theft Auto V, the crew members with higher stats will perform better, while requiring a higher cut and thus imposing a greater expense on the protagonists. Likewise, hirelings with lower stats will cost less, however their lesser performance quality will likely make for a more challenging mission for the player, if not suffering a casualty and losing part of the take at worst. Unlike in GTA V, in GTA Online the crew members will not earn experience or improve their skills for the next heist approach.

Two potential crew members can be unlocked by completing side missions certain; Patrick McReary, a skilled gunman, can be hired if rescued from a Police Transporter during a random event. Avi Schwartzman, a hacker that used to work with Lester Crest, can also be hired after destroying all 50 Signal Jammers throughout the state of San Andreas.

The Cayo Perico Heist

Support crew provides additional assistance to players during the heist. These can only be chosen for the heist when the player completes all the mandatory prep missions to activate the Finale, and require an upfront fee be paid for their services; they also require the player owns a certain operation, before they can be used (i.e. a Hanger for Airstrikes). Five of the support crew members are available for use via the Interaction Menu, but require the player to disable the island's air defenses during the heist for them to be available. The sixth is only available is the player choses a specific approach, and automactically completes their job when the heist begins. The following below lists each member's role, cost, and description of their job:

Name Cost Description
Airstrike $12,000 Charlie Reed drops a targeted airstrike from a P-996 LAZER on an area marked with a flare, very similar to the Merryweather Airstrike service in freemode. Requires air defenses to be disabled.
Supply Drop $15,000 A Minigun, a Rocket Launcher, and several Sticky Bombs are dropped in a crate for players to collect. Requires air defenses to be disabled.
Sniper $25,000 Viktor Sokolov deploys to the island and silently kills guards of the players' choosing using a silenced Sniper Rifle. It is possible that he may miss some of his shots. Requires air defenses to be disabled.
Helicopter Backup $30,000 Rooster McCraw arrives in a Buzzard Attack Chopper and attacks guards, drawing enemy fire away from players. Requires air defenses to be disabled.
Recon Drone $25,000 Paige Harris provides a reconnaissance drone that reveals the positions of all guards on the island. Requires air defenses to be disabled.
Weapon Stash $15,000 The players' selected loadouts are stashed in duffel bags in the hangar at the airstrip, preventing detection when using the Velum approach vehicle. Only works with the Velum approach vehicle.
