Head Radio is a radio station featured in Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft Auto 2. It is a mainstream radio that plays pop, rock, and techno.
Description[]
Head Radio's DJs include Eddie Symons (in the first Grand Theft Auto), Phanny Joe Styles and Johnny Riccaro (Grand Theft Auto 2).
In its first rendition, it is meant to represent a charts radio.[1] Through its different renditions it would remain as a mainstream radio that airs pop and, to a lesser extent, rock. In Grand Theft Auto 2, Head Radio is unique among the radio stations for featuring two DJs who play alternating genres – Phanny Joe Styles plays dance and pop music, while Johnny Riccaro plays rock and jazzstep.
The Head Radio Headquarters are located in Bayano, Industrial District, Anywhere City, as seen in Grand Theft Auto 2. A radio headquarters is also mentioned to be located somewhere around the borough of Kings in Liberty City in the original Grand Theft Auto.

- Head Radio is one of three radio stations in the Grand Theft Auto series to cross universes, the others being Radio Los Santos and West Coast Talk Radio.
Grand Theft Auto 2[]
- Bula Matari's "Taxi Drivers" was censored in the PlayStation version of the game. Swear words were interrupted by the sounds of horns.
- During the last speech of Phanny Joe Styles, it plays Slumpussy's Gangster Friday, the scores screen theme and credits theme from GTA.
- In Rockstar Radio it plays Ohjaamo's "Complications" (a song from the GTA rendition of Head Radio) during Jill Tasker's weather report.
- In the GTA 2 Radio promo on the GTA 2 website, Johnny Riccarro can be heard talking over "L.E.D." from Futuro-FM, and Phanny Joe Styles can be heard talking over "Pendulum" from Johnny's segment. According to Colin Anderson, this was not reflective of any change in regards to who hosted which station in the game's development.
