The Hatchet is a weapon in the enhanced version of Grand Theft Auto V. It is supposed to be a heavy melee weapon capable of serious damage.
It is exclusive for players who have played GTA V on the original PS3 or Xbox 360 version and will play it again on the enhanced version.
