Grotti Automobile is an Italian luxury vehicle manufacturer appearing in the HD Universe of the Grand Theft Auto series.
Description[]
Grotti primarily manufactures luxury sports cars, supercars and occasional hypercars, as well as a variety of speedboats. They also occasionally deal in compact luxury city vehicles, such as the Brioso 300. They are known to be a very prominent and prestigious car manufacturer, as companies such as Elitás Travel refer to themselves the "Grotti of air travel".
In Grand Theft Auto IV, Grotti's logo depicts a horse sitting down on its rear, while in Grand Theft Auto V, the logo is changed into a tilted Maltese cross on the center of the emblem. As seen on the rear of the Cheetah Classic in Grand Theft Auto VI's first trailer, the Grotti logo once again changes to a leaping hare, reminiscent of Grotti's badging in its 3D Universe iteration.
Influence[]
The company is a parody of Italian luxury car manufacturer Ferrari. Its vehicle lineup mostly reflects this, but occasionally deviates in the case of the Brioso R/A and Brioso 300, which are based on Fiat vehicles, and the Visione, which is largely based on a McLaren vehicle. The Vigilante is not based on any particular Ferrari vehicle, but is rather an amalgamation of various models of the fictional Batmobile.
Grotti's logo and badging also caricatures Ferrari's, as in Grand Theft Auto IV, instead of a galloping horse, the logo depicts a horse sitting down. Grotti's Maltese cross emblem used in Grand Theft Auto V bears some resemblance to the Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio emblem.
The company's name is presumably a play on the word "grotty", meaning "rotten" or "putrid" (likely as a contrast with Grotti's high-end status).
Location Influences[]
- The Grotti Showroom in Middle Park East on Bismarck Avenue resembles the New York City Ferrari/Maserati showroom in the Upper East Side of Manhattan on Park Avenue.

Grand Theft Auto V and Online[]
- Before the release of the Heists update for Grand Theft Auto Online, when driving the Rumpo into Los Santos Customs, the game said that the vehicle was manufactured by Grotti, even though it is manufactured by Bravado. This was later patched.[ref?ref?what update?]
Trivia[]
General[]
- The rabbit logo of the 3D Universe rendition of Grotti is reused in the HD Universe as a logo for the Ushero Bros brand of clothing.
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- The Grotti Racing Jacket seems to be based on Burt Reynolds' "Bandit" jackets from Smokey and the Bandit 2.
