Ghosts Exposed are a seasonal collectible event in Grand Theft Auto Online, added as part of the continuation of the San Andreas Mercenaries update, during the Halloween Event week in 2023 and returned during the 2024 and 2025 events for a limited time.

Description[]

Find and photograph the Ghosts haunting Blaine County to earn cash and RP. Photograph and send them all to Ghosts Exposed to earn a bonus reward.

The player will receive an automatic text message from the Ghosts Exposed documentary team saying they signed them up for a public, paranormal photography competition with other residents of Southern San Andreas. The ten hidden ghosts must be photographed up close using Snapmatic on the phone, and must be visible in the frame. Once photographed correctly, the ghost will be counted as "collected". Getting too close to a ghost will make it disappear, but it will reappear as soon as the player distances themselves enough again.

Each ghost has a specific area – with two possible spawn points within the same area. Each ghost will be available only for one in-game hour before they disappear. After photographing 9 ghosts in any order, the final ghost will be available.

The player will get $20,000 for each ghost photograph, and an extra $50,000 for photographing the final ghost once the previous ghosts are photographed.

The event can be done on both characters per account, allowing players to double-up on the cash reward.

Objective[]

There were a total of 10 hidden ghosts to photograph in Blaine County during Halloween 2023 event, 10 hidden ghosts in Los Santos during the Halloween 2024 event and 10 hidden ghosts spread over Blaine County and Los Santos during the Halloween 2025 event.

You can track how many Ghosts you have photographed via the Inventory section of the Interaction Menu.

After finding the first ghost, the player gets a message from the team.
2024-2025:

“Hey ghost hunter! Your editing is AMAZING! If you see any more REAL GHOSTS just snap a pic and send them to us. Stay living, G.E.”

2023:

“Hey ghost hunter! We received your pic and WOW!! It's SO convincing. We'd love more quality content where that came from. Stay living, G.E.”

Rewards[]

After photographing all 10 ghosts, the player will receive a text message from the Ghosts Exposed team saying that all of their ghost photos look convincing enough, and the team will send some exclusive merch as a thank you. The player will be rewarded with both the Ghosts Exposed livery for the Brigham and the Ghosts Exposed Outfit. During the 2025 event the player will receive the Ghosts Exposed Cap for the 10 ghosts photographed.
