Not to be confused with V8 Ghost, a 2-door car in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.

The Ghost (known as GHOST missing in the PS2 version) is a boat featured in Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.

Grand Theft Auto III

The Ghost in Grand Theft Auto III is essentially an unmarked, modified variant of the Predator police boat, lacking the twin machine guns of the police variant. The boat's color is "police car blue" in the PS2, Xbox & Mobile versions, and white in the PC version. Like the Predator in the Mobile and Xbox versions, the Ghost also features a bow rail, a small ladder on the back, and buoys attached to the sides.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

The same boat exists in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories with the "Ghost" in-game name but can be only spawned with Cheat Device or Action Replay codes (Its ID number is 193). The boat has various visual glitches including an entirely missing stripe on the boat's hull, allowing the player to see right through it, which suggests that the vehicle was planned but left unfinished early on. It will appear with a jet black paintjob.

The Ghost has the same performance statistics as the Predator.

Prominent Appearances in Missions

  • The boat appears only in Grand Theft Auto III during the mission "Gone Fishing", in which Claude is tasked with killing Ray Machowski's Partner while he is fishing near Portland Rock. If Claude chases Ray's partner long enough he will beach the boat on Portland Beach. The boat will remain on the beach after the mission (providing it isn't destroyed by explosives) and can be pushed back into the sea and sailed, but it cannot be saved.

  • The reason the name is "GHOST missing" in the PS2 version upon entering is because there is no valid GXT name, so it uses its game name ("GHOST") with the word "missing".[1] Rockstar fixed this on the other platforms and gave an in-game name to the boat. This would happen to all other vehicles with no valid GXT names.
