Liberty City Chapter 1: Gangsta Bang is the first chapter featured in Grand Theft Auto. The chapter is entirely set in Liberty City and the neighboring state of New Guernsey, and all missions are given to the GTA Protagonist by the Vercotti Crime Family's suspected leader Robert "Bubby" Seragliano through an unnamed contact.

“Answer the South Park phones to get jobs. Keep your eyes open to opportunities. Remember - you mess up, we mess you up.”

These missions revolve around the player assisting the Vercotti Crime Family in their various crimes, as a hired goon and as a getaway driver for bank jobs. The missions are available from the phones in the South Park neighborhood of Liberty Island, Liberty City.

1.000.000 points is the value required to complete the chapter and unlock the following chapter, Heist Almighty. Failing a mission will render it unplayable to the player, making it impossible to achieve 100% completion of the chapter.

One of Don Sonetti's guys wants to talk with you, kid. Go to the alley behind the Strip Club in North West Park. Now.

After earning 1.000.000 points, the protagonist will then have to meet Don Sonetti's right-hand man in the alleyway behind the strip club in Northwest Park in order to complete the mission and the chapter.

All types of power-ups can be found in boxes around Liberty City and New Guernsey, including Armor, Extra Lifes, Police Bribes, Get Outta Jail Free Cards, Speed and Multipliers. During this chapter, Pistols and Machine Guns are the only types of weapons that can be found in boxes.
