This is going to be run the same way as the Jan 2014 Administrator Election. This is because it is the easiest way to have an election between three people.

Candidates will be asked several questions which can be found in User:LS11sVaultBoy/Admin Cases and then to email their answers to VaultBoy.

  • The three editors can not vote for one another just as a case of what the rest of the community thinks.
  • This election is open to all users who are in good standing. Bureaucrats have the right to not count a vote.
  • Any discussions should be held in the comments section of each candidate, not on talk pages (although this is not forced, it just makes points easier to see).
  • Voting will run for exactly 7 days.
  • The candidate with the highest number of 'yes' votes will win. In the case of a tie, the editor with the highest number of 'first choice' votes will win. In the case of a tie in that situation, the user with the highest number of votes by the three bureaucrats will win. If there is no other way to break the tie, the bureaucrats will hold a b-crat only vote.

Voting Instructions

  • All users, except candidates, can vote a yes vote on all candidates if they wish, and all voters get one "first choice" vote that they can use on the user they think is best for the role.
  • Obviously, you may also cast a no vote on any candidate you deem not suitable.

Wildbrick142's statement

Hi all. So as you know, Smurfynz has resigned last night, possibly, as a result of the Community Noticeboard vote. Most of you probably know me, if not, then I usually work with templates, info based on the game files, images and different changes to articles. I've created mission navboxes for all games and converted all infoboxes to the design as seen before the new infobox markup. My most recent creations are small Template:VMissionGiver and Template:SpeculationProne as well as a change to Template:Infobox GTAORaces that displays the race type and it's icon on the top. I've also took numerous high quality screenshots of vehicles in GTA V - they can be seen here - and added categories to some images and look out for useless redirects on the wiki. I have been an admin and a bureaucrat on another wiki so I know how to use all of the admin tools. They would help at some things I do on the wiki as well as help deal with vandals more, or at all. Feel free to ask any more questions. V-michael-trunk-miniV-franklin-trunk-miniV-trevor-trunk-mini 11:27, July 19, 2015 (UTC)

  • First choice - I like a lot his responses. Although a precision for the sixth question: technically, advertising another website is considered as spam. Which is a warnable offense. Monolith Patch Rain - Talk SCS Freedom 17:43, July 19, 2015 (UTC)
  • First choice - Same as Rain. LS11sVaultBoy (Talk) 17:52, July 19, 2015 (UTC)
  • Yes - I don't have many dealings with you personally but your edits are ones I haven't had to check in the past, and you are excellent with things like coding, which I am not. Though, as others have pointed out, you do not often issue licencing reminders or scope many vandals out, which are important factors for admins. Sam Talk 18:00, July 19, 2015 (UTC)
  • Yes - Experienced in template coding. Although he did not use his chat tools often, he did use the revert tool at times. As he have great experience editing here and other wikis, it would be a yes. MC (MyComputer) 18:13, July 19, 2015 (UTC)
  • Neutral - Wildbrick, I know we haven't crossed many paths, and I must say, just like Sean, you are an outstanding contributor. However, the reason I'm giving your vote neutral is because of your last statement in your patroller request stating "You have a hard time spotting vandals." As an admin, I feel admins need to have sharp eyes for vandals; they can be as simple as somebody who uploads an image that doesn't follow policy to somebody who is bold enough to remove all content from pages or create an irrelevant or vulgar page. It's not good if an admin cannot spot such "attacks". Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember seeing you warn, image license message a user, or revert an edit before. This comment doesn't mean to lower your self confidence, but I feel you should work a little harder on watching wiki activity while editing. Also guys, because someone knows coding doesn't mean they can be an admin. Smashbro8-Sig-pt1 (Smashbro8-Sig-pt2) 21:28, July 19, 2015 (UTC)Smashbro8
    • Not exactly a hard time spotting vandals/rule breakers/etc. I can spot a vandal when there is one, but by the time I get a chance to react it would be warned/banned already - also they usually pop up at times when I am either busy or away so that further prevents me from taking any action on time. That's what I meant when saying "I'm not good at it". While it is true that I haven't warned or given out image license reminders, I did revert edits handful of times - even reverted one yesterday as a matter of fact. And no, they CAN be an admin. There are no set specialties towards being eligible for admin position. Some admins may suck at coding but are great at reporting vandals. Some admins suck at reporting vandals but are great at coding. Some are great at both. Admins have access to MediaWiki, which is plain coding, so having admins that know absolutely nothing about coding templates/css/whateverelse is quite pointless. We all have our specialties and that shouldn't prevent someone from getting a promotion just because they don't specialize in everything. V-michael-trunk-miniV-franklin-trunk-miniV-trevor-trunk-mini 14:14, July 20, 2015 (UTC)
  • Yes- Well, despite I don't know too much about Wildbrick, he does an excellent work and well, he knows coding, which I would need help when creating an infobox or a template. As Smash said, he needs to reinforce "patroller tasks" to spots vandals quickly, but that doesn't mean that he should be like "24/7". For me, it's unfair considering that not everyone is able to look on the wikia all the time, but keeping an "average" should be enough. Other than that, is still a good candidate. • First Choice - Technically skilled and qualified to assist with the actual administration of the wiki using the toolset that will be made available, however like the other 2 candidates (and I realise this is very much a case of pot/kettle on my part) he is often too quick to the fray and too slow to back down from a battle of words. Smurfynz 12:06, July 20, 2015 (UTC)
  • Yes - DLVIII Talk 15:07, July 20, 2015 (UTC)
  • First Choice - While I didn't get the time to personally know Wildbrick, I've seen his edits and his assistance to the news users and the current staff and I gotta say, I'm impressed. You have been on high-alert when it comes to reporting vandalism and your edits are above par. Also, you seem to know coding, which this Wiki needs desperately in order to stablize some templates that have been giving us some visual trouble. Regarding to your responses, you have the right words and attitude to surpress and resolve any troublesome situations. First choice from me :) --Tony42898 (Talker - Blogger - Stalker)-- 21:02, July 20, 2015 (UTC)
    • Tony, I don't mean to cause a riot here, but you weren't present enough here to see WB's activity to say that really. WildBrick is an excellent editor, but has very little experience in reporting and dealing with vandalism. I feel he could use his tools more often before he gets a yes. Also, to me, anyone can learn coding even if we teach new users, so why does coding matter so much in adminship? It never really was a necessary reason for users to be promoted on Wikis so why does it matter so much? I think response to vandal attacks, image policy, renaming pages and spam reports are more important than who knows coding and who doesn't. Because at the end of the day, that's what adminship is really about. Coding is an extra. Again, not hurting any feelings. WB, you are still a good contributor but work on those few things a little more. Smashbro8-Sig-pt1 (Smashbro8-Sig-pt2) 22:15, July 20, 2015 (UTC)Smashbro8
      • Yes, actually I was present enough to see much of Wildbrick's edits and contributions to and with the staff on here. Regarding to his knowledge of coding, I'm not remarking it as something you need to have as an attribute when applying for adminship, it's that users who have knowledge of such feat are beneficial to the wiki when it comes to creating templates, charts, etc. It's something I pointed out because alot of past users and staff members (Dodo8, Thomas notably) had the knowledge of coding and made the templates the way they are today. --Tony42898 (Talker - Blogger - Stalker)-- 23:37, July 20, 2015 (UTC)
      • [reply to Smashbro's comment] Very little experience in reporting, on this wiki, yes. I know how to, can do it and had experience in dealing with vandalism because, as I said, I've been an admin and a bureaucrat on another wiki. Please read both mine and Andre's Admin case responses and you'll see who has more experience in dealing with vandalism. Also the only Patroller tool is the Rollback tool. Image licensing/warning Templates aren't official tools added by Wikia staff and pretty much any user can add them so they don't really count as actual tools (and if they do, delete, move/merge, images needed, etc. technically count as well and I have used them plenty of times). Technically you are correct - Adminship is about everything, not just spotting/blocking vandals or coding. V-michael-trunk-miniV-franklin-trunk-miniV-trevor-trunk-mini 23:53, July 20, 2015 (UTC)
  • Neutral - Tough call. Great user but hasn't been a patroller long, and has had issues in spotting vandals. Leo68 (talk) 01:53, July 21, 2015 (UTC)
  • Neutral - Sorry, I may appear like a fool to vote neutral. Myth(Leave your threats here/Want to Stalk?) 03:14, July 21, 2015 (UTC)

Andre's statement

Hey guys, most of you know me and I have been an editor here since July 22, 2013. I sent an RfP in October 2014, which was unsuccessfull, but later in January 15, I sent another RfP, which was successfull but I had to be in a 3-month probation since some staff members didn't trust me enough to be a patroller. I passed the probation and I proved to be a trusted editor, now that i'm applying to be an admin, I just wanted your opinion about my promotion. The main focus of my promotion is to delete articles that need to be deleted and block troublesome users, I had to deal with vandals many times as a patroller and all I could do was give them warnings. But also, as a chat moderator, I have banned people who needed to be banned, see my chat ban log. Oh, speaking of chat, I practically resurrected chat this year. I also know coding well, as a System Analysis student, I am oblidged to know coding and wikitext. Now, it's up to you to vote, I don't mind honest opinions, feel free to say it. WildBrick is an outstanding contributor, make no mistake about that, but as Jamal has also pointed out, Andre uses more of the patroller tools such as image licencing reminders and spotting vandals. • Yes - I believe Andre has the capability to quickly settle situations in a professional way and he also utilizes his tools when the time needs them. His attitude is also great and helps out other users. Both him and Wildbrick have been a valuable asset on the wiki, which led me to a bit of thinking when I wanted to cast my first choice on the elections. Yes from me. --Tony42898 (Talker - Blogger - Stalker)-- 21:13, July 20, 2015 (UTC)
  • First Choice- Very polite to other users, knowledgeable on the GTA Series as well as games in general, and knows his way around the wiki, both in people and tools. While occasionally a little aggressive on dishing out punishments, Andre is a perfect candidate for an Admin position. Good luck man! Mortsnarg (talk) 00:42, July 21, 2015 (UTC)

Monk's statement.

Hey! You'll probably all know me by now, and have been around since August 2014. My first few months here weren't the best, and as you probably all know, I think I can deal with such scenarios in much more responsible and acceptable ways. I'm currently a patroller, which took a while to get to, and I've finally learnt most of my tools. You'll probably notice I have a love for cars, always have, always will, and as of that, I edit most of the cars on this wiki. And, because cars are a major aspect of the Grand Theft Auto Series, it's clear that many users will be changing things on vehicle pages, and therefore, I'll be here to revert any none-sense edits. I'm also known to be very active, especially on weekends and afternoons.

So, given that vehicles are the most popular of pages here on the wiki, I am always here to talk through to people about why their edits may be wrong. When I undo edits, I ALWAYS give an explanation, and if the user further disobeys my explanation, I go onto either writing a full explanation on their talk page, or give warnings for constant edit-wars. My 3-month probation was successful, and I (think) have regained trust from the highly respectful users around here.

My main reason for using the Admin tools will be for deleting old redirects for vehicles, blocking users for constant reverting or vandalism, and possibly deleting vehicular pages for future projects...Monk Talk 19:42, November 12, 2017 (UTC)

  • No - I'm sorry, but your behaviour (recent and since your promotion) don't convince me, including your latest message to me. You don't always give an explanation, sometimes you just rollback and that's it. Sometimes you issue warnings without reason. You're hostile to people who disagree with you. I'm sorry, but you're going to have to wait a little more to get a positive vote from me. Monolith Patch Rain - Talk SCS Freedom 17:43, July 19, 2015 (UTC)
    • 1) the last message I sent to you was not behaviour problems, it was an honest opinion about images you uploaded. I never shouted nor offended you.
    • 2) I almost always given an explanation, in fact, usually, I only never give an explanation when the edit the user made was either vandalism, clearly pointless or blatantly incorrect.
    • 3) I only use rollback when the edit is vandalism or was an unnecessary edit (eg, putting spaces in between paragraphs which are not needed).
    • 4) The last two I am going to agree with, because you know what? I can't help it. It's my problem, and I quite frankly, I'll never sort it. I'm a self-conscious depressed young man, who wakes up, only to dread about the next criticizing emails he'll be checking. I look in the mirror, thinking "this is my life, I edit on the wiki for a living", I check my emails to find disputes, arguments, everything. If I could choose life or death, I'd probably go with the latter right now. There's users I can make history with, some who I can heal friendships with, then there's the rest. This is serious, I can't help it. Monk Talk 19:42, November 12, 2017 (UTC)
