Hi, I am requesting adminship on here since there is a lack of them on this wiki. I am an experienced wiki user and I am a Bureaucrat at two other wiki, a Manager on wikianswers and an Admin on Islam wiki.

I also have a lot of knowledge on GTA as I own all of the games. Dan the Man 1983 16:07, May 11, 2011 (UTC)

Yescheck Resolved. Community voted for him to be an admin

Greetings and good evening, I have worked really hard since my first administration on the Choro Q Wiki, the first wiki where I have decided to search for (and wonder if there is a wiki for that sequel on this site), I am a brilliant editor there since I became administrator the first time and then I will search for other wikis that talk about games that I have knowledge about, now I know lots of things and got all the Grand Theft Auto games. I am a Administrator on Choro Q wiki, a standard-ranking user on The Simpsons wiki and Banjo-Kazooie wiki and even this wiki.

Now that I am being chosen for a promotion by a calculating chance of a vote, I will wish that I will be the best choice to be as the administrator of this wiki and I really do kindly appreciate it if you vote for me as I wish myself good luck. Crescendospectredragon 19:52, May 16, 2011 (UTC)

Yescheck Resolved. Community voted McJeff to be an admin

Hi. I'm requesting adminship on this wikia.

I was invited to apply for adminship over on Bully Wiki, where I'm a bureaucrat, by WikisEditor. I was out of town at the time and mostly inactive across wikia, so it took me a while to respond. However, I've been told there's a lot of work to be done here, that extra admins are needed, and I've had a lot of experience as an administrator. Particularly dealing with abusive sockpuppetry, I understand how rangeblocks work. I'm also good at writing policy pages in "normal English" (as opposed to the very elaborate technical English on Wikipedia and wikia rules pages pasted directly from Wikipedia). I'm also a pretty good content writer. Here is an example of a new article I saved and renovated over on Bully Wiki.

As far as other wikis go, I'm a rollbacker on Zeldapedia, although I don't edit there anymore due to frustration over a lack of clearly defined rules. I'm highly active on EQ2i, although I have no special user rights there.

I'm fairly well acquainted with the GTA series, although I haven't yet played GTAs 1, 2, or Vice City Stories.

Respectfully submitted, McJeff (talk this way)/(stalk this way) 22:00, May 31, 2011 (UTC)

I read you guys need more administrators. If you need one, I'm always avalible.

I created two wikis of my own so I do know about wikis and how they work. I know alot about the world of Grand Theft Auto, though, I think I should warn you that I only have GTA: San Andreas, GTA III and GTA IV.

I never really thought of becoming an admin before, but if you guys need help, I'll help. Bunnyjoke 00:39, June 16, 2011 (UTC)

Hello everyone, I would like to become an admin. I have not been a user in Wikia before.Though my joining of GTA Wiki dates back to not long ago, I have followed the wiki's articles for quite a long time, and was a bit disturbed by a few of the page having poor grammar, vocabulary, or having invalid links. Hence, I joined the wiki to contribute to it, editing pages which had to be edited. I have always wanted to help, not only the pages, but other users. I would like to suggest anything to help them. I have experience on many of the games, including GTA Advance, GTA IV and GTA Chinatown Wars, and therefore would like to add infomation lacking to the pages (though there are fewer now). My current purpose of being in the wiki is to edit grammar, vocabulary, links, relevance and, wherever possible, informative text. I would really love to help this wiki, and the rank of being an admin gives me the ability to remove pages or photos that are unnecessary , and help edit titles that are named wrongly. I hope I can be an admin. If I am not voted, I am fine, and continue my "duty" of editing where necessarry. GTANiKoTalk 11:14, June 29, 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I am Ilan xd and I want to become a patroller in the Wiki. The main reason why I want to be a Patroller is to protect pages from vandals and other users who want to write incorrect information. I already informed about severel Users that vandalize, but I want to be an official Patroller. I don't know what should I write other than that...

I play GTA since I was 6, so I know alot about the series.

Dunewolfz - Patroller

Yescheck Resolved. Community voted for him to be a Patroller

I wouldn't normally consider applying for something like this but a couple of users, mainly Russelnorthrop, ExtremoMania, and Ilan xd all suggested I should be one, (see the conversation here). So far what I've done is fixed minor things (i.e. typos, picture locations, and links), I've also removed the scripts from various missions across the articles. I don't have a particularly large collection of GTA games, only GTA III, San Andreas, and GTA IV. I don't have a large amount of edits (roughly 100 as of today), but I am an admin at the MotorStorm Wiki and an assistant (rollbacker) at the Burnout Wiki. I have some experience with coding, (I took a programming course freshman year of college). I'm fairly busy so editing wikis is more of a side hobby to me. I personally feel I should have more edits before applying for something like this, but I'll do what others say (hence why I'm here). I don't believe I have violated any rules, and I'm pretty sure I've been on here for two months. Well, that's all I have to say, it won't matter to me personally if I do/don't become a Patroller. I suppose I'll be asked a few questions, so I'll answer those to the best of my ability. Tenga buen dia, DunewolfzBanner 23:29, April 6, 2012 (UTC)

Russelnorthrop - Administrator

Yescheck Resolved. Community voted for him to be an administrator

Hello fellow GTAWiki Staff and Users. I, Russelnorthrop (Linx), would like to become an Administrator of this site, and I think the site itself would benefit if I was.

As you know, I'm already a Patroller of this site, and have been for a while now. I've reverted and undone a lot of spam, vandalism and just plain rudeness. The wiki now has a shrinking amount of staff, with GTANiKo, Haruhi and Tom Reed having been inactive for the past three months or so. This means that more and more staff are needed to handle the site, especially with the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto V. If I'm voted to become an Administrator I promise to handle everything with responsibility and pride. I feel that I'm also ready to give out formal warnings to irresponsible and vandal users, which will also be beneficial to the wiki.

I promise that if I am given the chance to become and administrator of this great website, I will do all that is needed, no matter what, to make this site better. I will take the opportunity with maturity and I'll never abuse my powers. Rising amounts of vandalism is occurring here, and I want to help remove it and discipline the people committing it, and this is one of the main reasons I would like to be an administrator, to keep this site spick-n-spam.

I have a large knowledge of the Grand Theft Aito series, now owning III, VC, SA, LCS, IV, TBoGT, TLAD and CW, and I'll definitely be getting V when it's released. This is obviously a large advantage when editing here, as I know what to add, what to remove and what to change.

I hope you can see my view on this, and feel free to ask questions in the questions section below. Thanks!

  • A user keep editing false information into a page, after being asked in past to stop. As an admin, what will you do? -- Ilan (XDEditsHome ) 06:18, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
    • Hi Ilan, and Thanks for voting 'yes' for me! If a user was adding completely false info onto a page. I would give them a firm but fair warning telling them that this kind of behaviour won't be put up with here, and I'd tell him that if he did it again, he'd be given a warning of 5-7 days, depending on his response, civility, and level of vandalism. Then if he actually DID vandalise more, I'd carry out my actions of what I told him and he would be banned/blocked for a certain time limit. RusselNorthrop(Talk2Me--Contribs) 06:27, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
  • I'll probably vote yes, but I've got a question I'd like you to answer first. This question doesn't have a "correct" answer and it's a fairly improbable situation, but I'd like to know how you think you might handle it. Jeff (talk|stalk) 08:18, April 5, 2012 (UTC)
    • Q: User "Alpha" has about 200 contributions. His article contributions are usually fairly good, but he's been warned for edit warring once and warned for personal attacks once. User "Beta" has about 20 contributions. None of them are vandalism, but almost all of them have been reverted for various reasons (grammar so bad his sentences didn't make any sense, adding useless trivia). The two of them get in an edit war on an article. You can't settle the dispute because you don't know which one of them is correct. What do you do?
    • Hmmmm... Well the first thing I would do is contact another staff who knows much about the topic, and then I'd change the previous revision to the correct statement. If User Alpha had not already conversed with Beta about the topic, as he has already been warned for a previous edit war I'd give him a ban/block for a week or so, depending on the severity of the war(s). I'd also give User Beta a friendly warning reminding him that if he ever gets into an edit war then he/she should directly contact the other User on their talk page to discuss the issue. I hope this is a worthy answer! :) RusselNorthrop(Talk2Me--Contribs) 08:56, April 5, 2012 (UTC)

Ilan xd - Administrator

Yescheck Resolved. Community voted for him to be an administrator

Hello there, my name is Ilan xd, and I'm requesting adminship on the GTA wiki.

I would to become an admin due to the a somewhat "big" 'amount' of the inactive staff members such as Niko, Tom R. and Haruhi.

Since my 'arrival' to this wiki here, I've undone various vadalism acts and "bad edits", expanded many articles (such as characters, missions, events, gangs, weapons, and even vehicles), informed about vandals, and cleaned up a few articles from speculations. Other than that, this wiki has became very active since the announcement of GTA 5 and I think that you'll need more 'admin force' here when the game will be released.

I've already made one request, but I don't want to talk about that. Since then, I've became more experienced with wikis: I am a Bureaucrat on Rockstar Games Wiki, Gangstar Wiki, and Red Dead Answers. I am a Moderator on both L.A. Noire and Red Dead wikis. I'm also active on the Max Payne wiki.

I would like also to answer a question that Jeff asked me:

A user has made 20 good edits. In his 21st edit, he made a mistake and someone undoes it. He goes user's talk page who undoes the edit, angrily saying "stupid freak, why did you undo a perfectly good information?". As an admin how would you respond to that situation: would you block him forever, block him in a week and just give him a warning, or just give him a warning and continue to edit?
Answer:I will give a warning to that user, and if he will continue with his behavior, I will block him for three days.

As for my GTA info - I played every game in the series, except GTA London. I know that being a big fan of GTA is not everything, but I have a large knowledge about the series. My favorite game is GTA IV.

Another important notice is that, as most of you guys know, English is not my first language, but I still have a high level of English, and every minute on Wikia, makes it better.

Safety and Peace. -- Ilan (XDEditsHome ) 14:01, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

PS if you want to ask me questions, do that.

  • You've been earning this request for long enough and now the most trusted staff. ExtremoMania Talk To Me This Way 14:26, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
  • As Extremo said, you've definitely earns it and deserve it mate! I really hope you get it and I'm pretty sure you will. ;) RusselNorthrop(Talk2Me--Contribs) 21:39, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
  • This user has been known to get offended at the smallest things. Which is why I have voted no. Messi1983 07:16, April 5, 2012 (UTC)
  • Hey, I said this as a joke! -- Ilan (XDEditsHome ) 07:23, April 5, 2012 (UTC)
  • I'm leaning towards "yes", but I do have a general comment. Advertising the amount of wikis you're staff on isn't by itself an overly compelling argument. Wikia will let any editor who asks make a wiki and appoint them as bureaucrat. I've edited on one wiki where the bureaucrat didn't know the difference between a "forum" and a "topic", and here on GTA Wikia, former administrator Crescendospectredragon thought that deleting someone's user page was the same thing as deleting their account. Severing on staff on multiple wikis is fine, but I'm more likely to be impressed by good contributions and edits rather than a list of wikis you're staff on. The way I see it anyone who can figure out how to write good contributions can figure out how to staff. Jeff (talk|stalk) 08:28, April 5, 2012 (UTC)
  • I have changed my mind and voted yes as you said it was a joke. With the trial basis applying to new admins added to this wiki, we'll see in a month whether you're good as an admin or not. Anyways with 4 yes votes, this looks like a pass, and I'll promote you now. Messi1983 10:13, April 5, 2012 (UTC)

  • If another administrator has blocked a user and you disagree with the block or the time length, what would you do? Messi1983 05:06, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
    • I'll either shorten it or remove it, accordingly to that user's actions - if he did a single vadalism act, I'll just give him a warning; If he did more than one vandalism act, I'll give him a 3-7 days block. I'll try to compromise with that admin, and we both try to find a fair solution for that user's block. If that admin refuses, I'll ask a bureaucrat to find a fair compromise. I hope you understand my answer. -- Ilan (XDEditsHome ) 05:39, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
      • Understood your answer. But never change the block without discussion first, as it can lead to wheel warring (two admins changing something like a block back and forth without discussion). Messi1983 07:52, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
        • This wasn't a good answer, but we don't have "Don't Wheel War" written anywhere on this site and this may be the first time Ilan's ever heard the phrase. Dan/Messi and I were both editors on Wikipedia before we ever came to Wikia, and so we're familiar with a lot of wiki-terminology that users who haven't spent much time on Wikipedia aren't.
To put it in plaintalk, the reason "wheel warring" is so bad is because it's comparable to police drawing their weapons on each other. Edit-warring is wrong in the first place, but staffers using their staff tools to edit war with each other is just beyond the pale because staffers are supposed to know better.
The correct way to deal with a block you disagree with is to ask the blocking editor why he blocked as long as he did. Usually excessively long blocks are either because of a bad day in real life, or sometimes just an accident and usually the blocking admin will shorten the block. If he refuses, then you should request that a third admin look into it. Jeff (talk|stalk) 08:33, April 5, 2012 (UTC)
        • Hmmm, I see my mistakes here. And you are right, I'm not familiar with that phrase, though I heard that a few times. -- Ilan (XDEditsHome ) 09:26, April 5, 2012 (UTC)

Russelnorthrop - Patroller

Yescheck Resolved. Community voted for him to be a patroller

Hi, My name is Lincoln. I live in Australia and have been a massive fan of GTA since Vice City. I have a large knowledge of the series and own 7 of them. Recently, a couple large edits that I've made have been changed by new people to the wiki, and changed massively. However, I was unable to undo the edit for some reason (it said for intermediate reasons or something along those lines). I would like to have more rights, just so I can revert edits like these and keep the wiki in shape and free of vandalism. For a long period of time I was having computer problems where it took about 2 minutes for the edit screen to appear, so I took a break from here until that was sorted. But now it's fixed and I'm planning on making alot more edits in the future. So far I've made 650+ edits, alot of them cleaning up vandalism and even fixing up the smallest of mistakes. As I said, I have a large knowledge of the GTA series, and would be happy to check up on anything on the 7 games I own (3, VC, SA, IV, TBoGT, TLAD, CTW).

The only problem I've ever had with editing was one occasion when I uploaded a photo without providing a source. This was during my computer issues and was cleared up with McJeff. It was just because my computer wasn't loading the whole page and all boxes.

It would be great if you could take me up on my request for Patroller, as I think I could be of big help to this wiki. Thanks. :) Russelnorthrop 10:33, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

  • And I'd just like to comment in Russellnorthrop's defense (not that he needs it now since this is obviously going to be an easy pass), but my giving him a hard time over the images was during that period when I was being way too absolutist about the image policy, and shouldn't be seen as a problem with him. Jeff (talk|stalk) 16:38, February 3, 2012 (UTC)
  • Now closing as obvious pass. Messi1983 01:59, February 4, 2012 (UTC)

ExtremoMania - Patroller

Hello everyone, for the entire GTA Wiki:Staff and good evening; My user name is ExtremoMania and I would like to become a Patroller of this wiki. Since I joined this wiki, I first made a lot of mistakes including adding wrong information; but as I have continued to edit a lot in this wiki, I begin to follow substansial rules of his wiki, including undoing wrong and spam edits and protect pages from adding wrong information. The reason why I chose this is because a lot of users especially Haruhi Suzumiya and Ilan xd wanted me to enlist as a new patroller. I hope that I'am fully qualified for this position because in less than 1 month, I have made over 250 edits as of today. If I'am qualified, I will make sure that no one adds incorrect information to other pages and correct spam and warning other users from adding incorrect information. So I will leave it to all of you and Thank U!

My (user)name is Winter Moon, and I think that all of you are familiar with me, and I would like to become an administrator on the GTA wiki. I wanted to wait to apply for two reasons; A. I only had GTA IV for a while, and I didn't really know much about the older series, and B. I wanted a little more experience. Well, now I have both Vice City and San Andreas, and I am currently playing through Vice City, and I have gotten over 2,000 edits as of today. Now, I think that the problems we will be dealing with in the near future include all the usual petty vandalism, as well as people making pages about Tommy Vercetti definitely being in GTA V, Bigfoot definitely being in GTA V, and that San Fierro and Las Venturas will definitely be in GTA V. So, um, here's to the future! Winter Moon 14:41, January 16, 2012 (UTC)

  • This is an easy yes for me, you have shown that you would make a great administrator during your time as a Patroller and I can't think of a reason to say no. Tom Talk 16:20, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
  • I was the one who asked him a few months ago to apply for adminship. Messi1983 09:41, January 20, 2012 (UTC)
  • I've seen a lot of this guys edits. I think he is doing a good job in keeping vandalism out of the wiki. Also his getting VC and SA is a smart move, that will help him learn more about the GTA series. 涼宮ハルヒ(Suzumiya Haruhi) 11:19, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

Dodo8 - Patroller

Closed 17:42, August 15, 2012 (UTC) as Successful - Jeff (talk|stalk)

I'm on this Wiki since July 1st. I have 229 edits. I like to help with what I can. I fight vandals' edits when I see them. I am visiting the Wiki everyday. I have experience in being an Admin. I was on Empires & Allies Wiki, and now I apply for Dragon City Wiki. Those are Facebook games tough. Also I contributed a lot on Club Penguin Wiki (about 1,000 edits), altough I've never had any special rights, and I once quit since the Admins planned to move on an old-style wiki wich I didn't really liked and eventually I also left the game. I know to read XMLs and HTTPs, altough I'm only 13 :). I like to create and improve templates. You can see some on my Userpage. I'm from Romania, so I might have some grammar errors but I try to correct them as soon as possible when I see them. I played GTA: San Andreas, Vice City and IV on PC (I don't have consoles but my PC is high tech tough) ;). I can't wait for GTA V and I'm planning to add as much information I can when it comes out. Well, that's all. I hope I convinced you and you'll vote "Yes". BTW, next week (12-19 August) I'll be in vacation. Sorry I can't contribute more, but I'll get back as soon as I can.

Thank you.

Closed July 14, 2012 as Successful - Messi1983 (talk) 05:33, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

I was just looking around and i've noticed that there's only one patroller on this wiki. The names Bob Cutlass, and i'm a huge GTA fan and have been editing this wiki for almost 4 months now and I would like to apply for patroller. I can help improve the quality of this wiki, and revert vandalism if I can become a patroller. Since I joined this wiki I have already made many contributions. If this wiki were to have more patrollers, than there will be less vandalism, and I can greatly help in keeping GTA wiki clean. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bob.cutlass2 (talkcontribs) Please remember to sign your talk page messages with ~~~~.

I'm Tony and I have been on this Wiki since May of 2012. I contribute here and other Wikis based on games I have and I have average-to-good grammar. I am on this wiki couple times a day and look through articles that I want to read and if I see grammar mishaps or possible signs of vandalism, I edit it or undo it so no contributor can see the vandalism or be confused at the bad grammar and I'll report an admin if any vandalism occurs alot.

Not only that I'm an contributor here, I'm on high alert against vandalism. A few times during the summer, there were vandalism on this Wiki and the cause was this user, GTA TROLL, who was a sockpuppet of joshualeverburg1. The vandalism was caused by him blanking out the pages and replacing them by putting useless photos. I witnessed the vandalism and took immediate action to undo his vandalized edits and I reported to the known admins (Ilan xd and The Tom) and now the incident was supposed to be over, but he struck back, hacking my account and creating a vulgar page about this Wiki, which I reported to McJeff and now cleared.

I'm on the lookout too for speculation about GTA III Era/IV Era cars, vehicles, characters, etc. "making a return to GTA V" being placed on the current pages here. As stated above, I have average-to-good grammar and will fix grammar mishaps so it won't confuse readers or having them say, "Huh?". I will respect any vote or response you voters will make.

Kind Regards to All Voting,

Closed 17:29, November 22, 2012 (UTC) as Successful - Messi1983 (talk) 17:29, November 22, 2012 (UTC)

Hi wiki staff, I am Mikey Klebbitz aka Myth Killah and I am requesting to be a patroller.

I applied for patroller a while back, but the request was unsuccessful. I have improved myself, and though I think I had potential to be a good patroller back then, I am a better writer now and I'm sure I've got what it takes to make it to patroller.

I have a full count of 628 edits, and I already used to make good edits, but now with the Grand Theft Auto V new screenshots, artworks and the new trailer, I have looked out for some pages so they couldn't be filled with wrong and/or fake info and I think I have been doing it good.

As for grammar, I correct misspellings whenever I see them, and usually write things with good grammar. Keep in mind, I'm Portuguese, so if for once I write anything with any sort of bad grammar, forgive me, because I speak English a lot, and sometimes even speak English when I'm with my friends, but I am Portuguese.

I have also created good pages with reliable information and have also uploaded some photos and videos to the wiki.

Please vote, so I know if you consider me worthy of being a patroller.

See you around the wiki,

Mikey Klebbitz (talk) 14:56, November 18, 2012 (UTC)

  • That is good but I would like him to answer in what ways can he help this wiki by being a patroller? Messi1983 (talk) 08:46, November 21, 2012 (UTC)
  • If I get promoted to patroller, I want to delete all the vandalism I can find, and I have already started to delete unnecessary/ dead links on pages, speculation and wrong information as well as putting links where they need to be put. I will also help you with the vandals/ hackers in this wiki, in any way I can. Mikey Klebbitz (talk) 17:31, November 21, 2012 (UTC)

Failed Requests

ExtremoMania - Administrator

Closed July 7, 2011 as User withdrew request - Messi1983 04:02, April 17, 2012 (UTC)

Hello fellow GTA Wiki users and staff, my name is ExtremoMania, and I requested for an administrative rights here in GTA Wiki.

Since my Patroller request, I have undone and reverted edits such as speculations and vandalism; expanded articles like missions, games, vehicles, characters; adding videos under copyright policies in missions and games pages such as trailers, informed spammers from the higher staff, warned disrespected users especially who are incivil to talk and so much more.

The main reason why I requested for this position is we are now again lacking admins; as you know one member of the staff in here has been given administrative rights but was fated to hold the position in just 1 week after he has been "globally-blocked by Wikia". Since 2 patrollers (the other being Ilan xd) have been promoted to administrator, I gradually decline the offer for awhile because we already have a number of admins. But since Dan had told me in his message to me saying that "we might need 1 ore admin", I begin to accept the offer again for a reason that I might be able to help the wiki with more tools, especially with the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto V.

Currently I own 7 GTA games mainly GTA III, GTA VC, GTA SA, GTA VCS, GTA IV, TLAD, TBOGT and planning to get GTA LCS and GTA CW and I'll definitely getting GTA V although this might take time as our country might not receive it in a year. I promise that if I'm voted to be one of the admins here, I'll handle all major responsibilities of the wiki and never abuse the powers that they have been given to me.

I hope I have given all of you the views for this matter. If you want to ask me some questions regarding about my request then I'll be happy to accept one. Thank you for your time. :)

  • Neutral. My gut instinct is that I'd like to see you get a little more experience editing wikis and getting familiar with the staff side of things, and then apply for admin in a couple months or so. But you're a good enough editor a 'no' vote wouldn't be fair. Jeff (talk|stalk) 06:49, April 13, 2012 (UTC)
    • Switching to No. Starting an argument over a facebook post from November 2011 was as ill-advised as some of the comments there. Jeff (talk|stalk) 00:00, April 16, 2012 (UTC)
  • I've changed my mind and voted no. Nothing personal, but I just do not trust this user as an admin after reading this and this. Messi1983 23:51, April 15, 2012 (UTC)
  • Looking at that conversation, I'm honestly disgusted at how everyone reacted over such a simple statement. I'm a completely neutral person when it comes to my views, so such a biased conversation like that one is unacceptable. Way to act professional (and that applies to everyone that participated in that). I'm removing my vote.DunewolfzBanner 00:21, April 16, 2012 (UTC)
    • I too was disgusted by that conversation. I've tried repeatedly to sanitize it, before and since the particular incident that started this mess. The problem is that Wikia (and by extension this wiki) is teeming with trolls and people so dimwitted they're indistinguishable from trolls, and you cannot have a conversation about something like a female protagonist without some idiot making offensive comments and making the whole wiki look bad. Jeff (talk|stalk) 00:25, April 16, 2012 (UTC)
      • Then why not remove the conversation all together? When you get an argument that no one will win, the best thing to do is simply remove the problem at its source. Honestly who wins an argument when both sides have their fair share of morons and trolls? No one. DunewolfzBanner 00:34, April 16, 2012 (UTC)
        • You can't stop it from coming back, you can't stop the stupid people from finding it, and you can't stop Gboyers from seeking out offensive diffs to pounce on. Jeff (talk|stalk) 01:25, April 16, 2012 (UTC)
          • That's unfortunately true, but people who seek out the bad side of situations in order to insult others are just as bad as those who combat the fire with more fire. It's always better to fight fire with water (in other words, simply get rid of the argument each time it arises).DunewolfzBanner 01:42, April 16, 2012 (UTC)
            • Ah, but then people will complain about you "censoring" and "hiding" old posts. There's no way to win. Jeff (talk|stalk) 04:11, April 16, 2012 (UTC)
  • Marking as closed as user has stated he has withdrawn this request evident on my talkpage and Tom's talkpage. Messi1983 04:02, April 17, 2012 (UTC)

I just deleted an article he copied verbatim from Grand Theft Wiki. That's plagiarism, and that's why WikisEditor got desysopped. I want to become a patroller because i saw many false things such as like Forelli Exsess can be obtained in firefighter missions and other so can i become a patroller. Two reasons there are:
1. Promotion
2. Making sure that vandalism doesn't exist. I really hate them why they do that its like they are just born or something because i always go to this wikia every day.--Wcrolas990 15:16, August 22, 2011 (UTC)

  • I don't think you've really proven yourself on this wiki, you don't seem to be a very experienced user. If you see something on the wiki that is incorrect you can change it, you don't have to be staff to change it everyone can. I'm glad you hate vandalism but it takes more than that to be a Patroller, just keep editing and helping out and maybe request a promotion again in a couple of months or so. Also after just checking your edits it seems like you don't quite understand what vandalism is, the edit that you reverted on the Misty page is not vandalism. Tom Talk 15:39, August 22, 2011 (UTC)

  • You've been here since June ("so i seen"), whilst for example User:Dan the Man 1983 has been editing here since 2008, and me since 2006, so that isn't really a good argument for why you should be promoted. • We've promoted underqualified users to administrator positions based on "no bad contributions", but if Crescendospectredragon and Bunnyjoke have taught us anything it's that decent edits don't automatically make a good administrator. So instead I'm going to ask you a question about what you'd do. Answer to the best of your ability. McJeff (talk this way)/(stalk this way) 06:22, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
    • Question: A user has made about 20 good edits. His 21st edit is incorrect and someone undoes it. He goes to the user's talk page and flames him by calling him a "stupid prick". As an administrator what would you do?
  • The English in your application above is not very good ("severel", "I editing here"), so I'm not sure you would be able to carry out the role effectively. Perhaps English is not your first language, which is no bad thing, but I think an English wiki needs fluent staff to be able to understand everything, and judge and rewrite the work of others. Also, your profile says "I have a very short fuse so I getting anger very fast" which is not how an Administrator should be. Gboyers talk 12:03, September 10, 2011 (UTC)

My username is WonderWaffle, I am requesting for this promotion becuase ive been playing gta since 2002, i know alot about The Series, and the Decline In staff [The Tom and BunnyJoke Resigned] and ive been editing alot, but i dont have much time because im caught up with school and stuff. Im hoping you will see this through and accept me into the GTA Wiki Staff.

  • I don't know. You have less then 100 edits, but you are good editor. I want to see what others will write about you. -- Ilan xd 13:16, September 5, 2011 (UTC)
  • Two or three more weeks of good editing like you have been doing and I'll vote yes, until then it is a no due to edit count. Dan the Man 1983 13:29, September 5, 2011 (UTC)
  • At least one wiki I edit specifies users must have 700 edits before they ask for rollback. I initially didn't like that policy, but with the number of editors requesting promotion almost immediately I'm thinking we might ought to put some sort of rule similar to that one in place. Also if it wasn't clear I agree with the "you're doing a fine job but you haven't been active long enough to be promoted" stance the others have taken. McJeff (talk this way)/(stalk this way) 06:11, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
  • Your application above doesn't say anything about why you should be staff. A lot of people know a lot about GTA games, but not everyone is suitable to be staff. Do you understand what is involved? Gboyers talk 11:54, September 10, 2011 (UTC)

White&Gold - Patroller

I would like to apply for a role as a "Patroller", as I have been a fan of GTA for the best part of 10 years (end of February as I got GTA 3 then for my birthday), I have completed all of the GTA 3 era games and all of the GTA 4 era games, I like the GTA 3 era the most, as I found it more entertaining than GTA 4, I sometimes like to start a new game (be it GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories or Vice City) every so often to see what I could find in cutscenes or whilst playing it that I hadn't had noticed before when I was playing, I think my favourite GTA game is GTA 3, I like the radio stations (MSX, Game Radio and Rise FM are my favourite) the game play, the missions and the characters, my favourite characters are Claude and Maria and my favourite gangs are The South Side Hoods, The Yardies, Leone Mafia and The Diablos, why I want to be a patroller is I don't agree with vandalism, I see it as pointless, stupid and a complete waste of time, you don't have to prove that you're hard because you have deleted someone's edit and changed it with stuff that has no relevance with the page, I get along with people, I think I would call myself a people person and I haven't had a bad rep on this page, I don't go around vandalising pages, I don't think I've ever had a cross word with anyone on this page and I haven't had any warnings about my edits, so I think I would be good for that position.

I hope I have convinced you guys into making a decision; be it good or bad and I will look forward to hear what you have to say. White&Gold 19:00, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

  • You haven't helped out enough and the fact that you're not a vandal and that you disagree with vandalism doesn't really qualify you for the position, the majority or users are not vandals and feel the same way about vandals as you. Keep editing and helping out and apply again in a month or so :). Tom Talk 19:43, February 21, 2012 (UTC)
  • So far your edits look pretty good, but having less than 200 just isn't enough to promote. Hello, I'm Boomer8 and I would like to be a patroller on the GTA wiki.I have been making many edits since I've joined, and I'm around 212 edits currently.I have been on this wiki for almost a month now and I would like rollback rights so I can help protect this wiki from vandalism.I've been on this wiki for a year or so even when I did'nt have a user.I know GTA IV and its episodes inside and out and know GTA SA as well.So I have been playing GTA for a very long time. Please make me a patroller and hopefully vote for me. --Boomer8 (talk) 17:35, September 9, 2012 (UTC)

  • To put it short - no. I don't think you're ready yet. -- ILan (XDEditsHome ) 17:51, September 9, 2012 (UTC)
  • You haven't really made any significant edits, most of your edits are adding categories to pages and I've noticed that you never add more than one at a time, if you want to add multiple categories to an article then do so in one edit. Also your grammar isn't great, remember to put a space after a period, but keep at it and apply again in the future. Tom Talk 22:43, September 9, 2012 (UTC)

HuangLeeSon375 - Patroller

Closed 17:42, August 15, 2012 (UTC) as "Not Yet" - Jeff (talk|stalk)

I joined this Wikia and this Wiki on the 26th of July. Although I only joined on that date I had been browsing the Wiki for months before-hand. I have as of the time I posted this, 154 edits, some major and some minor. I have created one page on the Wiki, Warehouse Raiding. I help fight vandals edit's the hard way (copy and pasting and re-addin links). I had another Wikia account before this which I used for a posse on the Red Dead Wiki. I also occasionally edit the Rockstar Games wiki and the Red Dead wiki. I have no experience of being anything other than the average Editor. I like fixing others mistakes and enjoy helping new users of the wiki. I have had one mistake in the past in which I wrongfully added the 'Delete' template to a page I thought already existed. I have what I consider good grammar and punctuation. As far as games go I have all the GTA Games one way or another, although there is one that I can't play due to not having the console for it anymore. I have the following consoles: PS3 Slim, PS3 Phat, PSP 3000, Nintendo DSI, PS1, an iPod Touch 4th Generation 8gb which has GTA III installed, a fairly low powered PC which I use to play GTA 1 and its expansions and GTA 2 and a fairly high powered laptop which I have GTA: Vice City and GTA III installed on. I am looking forward to the release of GTA V and will most likely be recieving it on release day, so I will be one of the first to add loads of info to its respective pages. I'm from the UK so I follow GMT, I'm usually on my PC from 10am to 11pm on weekends or holidays, and 4:30pm to 10:30pm on school days. I'm on and off the wiki all day so I'm always availible to help out. I join the Chat at least twice a day. I would enjoy to have the rollback feature as there has been a lot of troll accounts on the wiki lately and it would be much easier to revert there changes. I guess thats all I can really say. I hope that I'm considered and I don't mind if I don't receive patrollership, I will still help out as best as I can on the wiki.

I have been on this wiki for almost a year and have many edits and contributions. I have a passion for GTA and love playing the games and I feel that I would be a great edition to the GTA Wiki as a patroller. Protecting the integrity and accuracy of the wiki aggainst vandalisem would be my number one priority. For these reasons I ask to be a patroller.

  • He's an alright editor now but I don't think that I will ever say yes to this. He was blocked for breaking the civility policy multiple times, he spoke to me and other staff members in an insolent manner, and that for me rules out him becoming a staff member. He also created 2 rival Wiki's after been blocked out of spite. He has been alright since he returned but there are still grammatical errors in many of his edits, and I've reverted some of his edits for been pretty pointless. Tom Talk 10:02, July 26, 2012 (UTC)

  • Your edits are of fine quality, for the most part that is. I would have voted "yes" but the thing is, your short temper gets the best of you. You don't see other users running around cussing and fussing with other users who disagree with them. I mean calling others "Dumb S---s" isn't going to fly around here, seriously, do you kiss your mother with that mouth? If you didn't have such a short fuse I'd vote "yes". Oh, and one last thing, brush up on your grammar. Come back after you've learned how to control your temper and how to use proper grammar, then you might stand a chance of getting Patroller. Hello, I am Sasquatch101 and am requesting to be a patroller here on the GTA Wiki. Since I joined back in november, I have vigorously been at work on completing all the street names in Grand Theft Auto IV (so far all of Algonquin) as well as making various contributions around the wiki. I am on the verge of 200 edits, but the quality of the edits is what I feel is most important. I belive I would be a great patroller becaue I always try to help new editors that come on the wiki and keep an eye out for vandals such as the "Yomamma'sgirlyparts" user who deleted the blue hell page which I fixed, then reported to two admins. I also created the GTA Myths Wiki, as I noticed in the GTA Wiki rules & policy that myths were not allowed and were redirected to the old abandoned gta myths wiki. The new GTA Myths wiki is now a first-class affiliate of the GTA Wiki. I love the GTA series and will be a good addition to the GTA Wiki staff.

Sasquatch101 (talk) 04:16, December 8, 2012 (UTC)

  • I have said "not yet" based on there being a lack of experience. Grammar skills are good but could do with improvement however, which will come from experience. Though this user does have the initiative to deal with vandals, I think more experience and skills are needed to make a good patroller. JBanton (talk) 10:37, December 8, 2012 (UTC)
  • He is a good editor and reports vandals, but I don't think he is ready yet. The GTA Myths Wiki is a great expansion for this Wiki as we don't have to do with myths going around here on this GTA Wiki. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tony 4-2-8-1-9-9-8 (talkcontribs) Please remember to sign your talk page messages with ~~~~.

  • I've paid attention to this user and how he dealt with "Yomomma's". I also had to restore an edit in which he deleted quite a bit of good text along with the vandalism. But I think he should get promoted because of his effort to keep that vandal off the wiki. Mikey Klebbitz (talk) 17:33, December 27, 2012 (UTC)

So I got like 892 edits because I hope that's a lot of editing that you might know that and wondering how did I got alot of edits.

So I'll let you think about it and after that you'll get back to me about whether am I worthy enough to be a patroller. If I become a patroller is it okay that I delete all my old message on my talkpage? Cloudkit01 06:55, December 4, 2012 (UTC)Cloudkit01

  • I have based this vote on the fact that a block was issued to this user around a couple weeks ago. More significant the basis for this vote is the quality of grammar; which doesn't give me much confidence. I fear that the lack of grammatical quality combined with increased power may lead to low quality editing. It is however good that this user reports vandalism, but I'm still not very confident. I joined the wiki on March 12, 2012 and I always check to make sure there are no misspelled words on any pages and I like to read trivia questions on every page. I joined the wiki before, but my account was gone due to the router was down and I was mad when that happened I couldn't show my face on the wiki anymore. So I have been given another chance to be on this wiki. I upload pictures of voice actors and actresses so everyone can look and upload them on the page.

I wanted to be a patroller or any promotion ranks and I know I have 249 edits from every pages I been on.

So contact me on my user page and leave me a message or email me: Just be easy on me or I'll go 3 Stooges on my parents and everyone I know in the real world.

Hi, I'm Mikey Klebbitz and I've joined the wiki on the 3rd of August of 2012. I have got an account on this wiki, Wikipedia and Youtube. When I signed up on this wiki I was determined on improving everything I could here. And I look back now and these few months here had me fix some pages that were awful (full of bad grammar, badly constructed or lacking information) , and create some pages I think of as being important.

So, I think I should be promoted not only because of my amount of edits, but also because of their role on making pages clear. Quantity and quality.

That said, I hope you vote "Yes", but if you don't, I will consider that as another chance of improving myself as long as you tell me why you don't want to promote me.
