This page documents the Official GTA Wiki Policy on mythical content.

Policy[]

The definition of a myth, in this context, is "A social phenomenon, typically involving supernatural beings or events.".

The GTA Wiki is intended to be a comprehensive and reliable source of information for the Grand Theft Auto series, aiming to provide factual and canonical details about the games. To maintain the integrity and accuracy of content on the wiki, mythical content is not permitted in articles and is strictly limited to User Sandboxes.

This policy covers inclusion of mythical content on its pages. All content published on the wiki must be based on official information, canonically supported material from the GTA games, and credible sources such as from Rockstar Games.

Prohibited mythical content[]

  1. Fan-created stories, characters, or events: Concepts that are not supported by official GTA games or Rockstar Games' publications. These may also fall under Fan-fiction.
  2. Supernatural or fantastical content: Speculative content that introduces supernatural, fantastical, or science-fiction elements not found in the GTA universe.
  3. Mythical modifications: The inclusion of content from mods, fan-made expansions, or other unofficial sources that contradict the canonical lore of the GTA series. These may also fall under Modifications.

Permissible mythical content[]

Unestablished, fictional myths are only permitted in User Sandboxes. Create or edit your own sandbox here.

  1. Easter Eggs and References: In-game Easter eggs, hidden references, or nods to other games, movies, or pop culture, as long as they are found within the official GTA games.
  2. Story Elements: Plotlines, missions, or events that occur within the official GTA games, including those with mysterious or paranormal undertones, such as UFO sightings or ghostly encounters.
  3. Media: Information from in-game media sources, such as websites, newspapers, or radio broadcasts, that provide additional details about the game's characters, events, or lore.

Advisory[]

  • User Sandboxes including mythical content should include a {{User Sandbox}} and/or {{Unofficial}} banner at the top of the page to notify readers that the content is not officially produced nor endorsed by Rockstar Games.
  • Avoid Speculation within articles that may lead to, or come across as, potentially mythical and fanon content.
