The update introduces a series of six new A Superyacht Life co-op missions, initiated on the Galaxy Super Yacht, introduced by a phone call from Brendan Darcy if the player already owns a Super Yacht, otherwise onscreen prompts will inform the player that they need to purchase one from DockTease to be able to initiate the new jobs:

Business Battles[]

- 15 new sets of Off-Road Wheels have been added and can be purchased at any modification garage.

- Over 320 clothing items, as well as 24 new masks, have been added.
Vehicles[]
This update includes 15 vehicles, all of which are immediately accessible to the players on the appropriate websites, including 6 Benny's Original Motor Works upgrades to existing vehicle stock:
Two of the Benny's vehicles, the Manana and Peyote, provide the first opportunity to purchase the stock vehicles legitimately, with the description of the Peyote on the Benny's site making clear reference to the fact that it could previously only be obtained by stealing one off the street. There are now only eight vehicles in GTA Online that can be stolen and stored in freeroam but cannot be purchased legitimately: Baller (first generation), Blista, Dubsta, Duneloader, Emperor, Mesa (regular stock variant), Phoenix and Speedo.
Quality of Life Updates[]

- Players now have an increased cap on how many standard properties they can own. This has been raised to eight.
- When a player enters The Diamond Casino & Resort, they are now told how long they have remaining before they can spin the Lucky Wheel again.
- A ‘Return Personal Vehicle to Storage’ option has been added to the Interaction Menu allowing players to return their personal vehicle whenever they choose.
- Snacks can now be purchased from Wendy in the Arcade property.
- New spawn locations have been added to the Pegasus Lifestyle Management system to increase the chances of the requested vehicle spawning successfully.
- Updates have been made to the frequency that players receive the help text “The Terrorbyte is parked nearby.”
- Updates have been made to the frequency that players receive the calls from LJT about their Businesses.
- These "calls" are now received via SMS, not phone call interruptions.
- The vehicles in Simeon’s Export Requests have been updated to increase the reward for successful delivery.
- Sourced vehicles can now only be resprayed, but the respray is free, increasing profit.
- Several updates have been made to Open Wheel Races:
- Pits:
- White screen effects now appear when healing
- New particle effects now appear when healed
- Players are now always Passive when in the pits
- Players can now change tire type mid-Race while stationary when in the pits
- Pits map blip and checkpoints have been updated
- Vehicle Damage:
- New UI has been added that indicates when players have broken their front/rear wings and main vehicle body.
- Red screen effects now appear when losing a part of vehicle or if a tire bursts.
- Camera Shake effect has been added for when losing part of vehicle.
- All tire types now wear down faster and Hard and Medium tires now have noticeably less grip.
- Anti-Grief:
- If players do not collect a checkpoint within 12 seconds or if the player is given a wrong way shard, they will be made passive/ghosted until collecting another checkpoint. This only applies to Rockstar Created Open Wheel Races.
- Vehicles:
- The two new Open Wheel vehicles can be used in all Rockstar Created Open Wheel Races.
- Music:
- Ambient music is now off by default in Rockstar Created Open Wheel Races. Players can choose this to be on in UGC Open Wheel Races.
- UI:
- Bar displays for ‘Vehicle Health’ and ‘Lowest Tire Grip’ have been replaced with a new UI display showing the current health/wear of all vehicle parts.
- A new Start Countdown has been added.
- Pits:
- Players can no longer rapidly tap accelerate and always get the boost at the start of the Race. Players must now only accelerate once “Go” is shown to get the boost. For Open Wheel Races, you need to only accelerate after the countdown lights are removed.

Vehicles[]
- The chrome variants of the original offroad rims which were originally only available in Grand Theft Auto Online are now available for purchase in Grand Theft Auto V.
- The Caracara 4x4's engine sound has been changed. The sound now resembles that of a Vapid Guardian.
- Changes have been made to the way vehicle sirens behave:
- The "yelp" (wail on the Police Bike) tone now only actives when quickly pressing down the horn button while the sirens are active.
- The airhorn can no longer be triggered while the sirens are active, previously only possible when quickly switching the sirens off and back on.
- The "phaser" tone will active while holding down the horn button while the sirens are active.
- Player-driven vehicles' sirens no longer echo in enclosed spaces such as around buildings or within tunnels.
- Only the primary, secondary, warning and accompanied air-horn tone (the latter of which only applies to the Police Cruisers, Unmarked Cruiser, FIB Buffalo and Granger, Sheriff Cruiser and Sheriff SUV) are affected by this change.
- Sell values of some pre-modified NPC vehicles at Los Santos Customs were changed (this was reverted in the subsequent update).
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- Freemode Challenges - minimum player limit has been reduced from 5 to 3.
- Pause Menu > Online > Find New Session now returns players to the same session in most instances. Players need to return to Story Mode to refresh their online public lobby. This was acknowledged as a bug and fixed[1] in GTA Online: The Cayo Perico Heist update.

- The San Andreas State Park Rangers models were both updated with a new patch.
- 6 new background images have been added to the Grand Theft Auto V loading screen.
- 3 new background images have been added to the Grand Theft Auto V & Online landing page.

The Los Santos Summer Special update was the substitute the scheduled release of a Cops & Crooks update for Grand Theft Auto Online. Significant amounts of data relating to the update were found as part of GTA V's September 2022 leaks. The update followed on from the subsequent release of The Diamond Casino Heist, and included a variety of police and civilian vehicles, weapons and arcade-style cops versus crooks game modes.
