Funland is an amusement park and landmark in Grand Theft Auto IV, Episodes from Liberty City and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars located in Firefly Island, Broker, Liberty City.
Description[]
The park is located on Crockett Avenue and encircled by the Alexander Boardwalk. It is located directly opposite Firefly Island Beach.
History[]
The park was abandoned as of 2008 during the events of Grand Theft Auto IV. In First Date, Michelle reveals that the park is to be renovated into a "Las Venturas-style" theme park.
The Liberty Go-Karts race track was renovated in 2009, expanding the race track area for the Go-Kar-TT time trials in Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.
The park may have been renovated by 2013, as one of Tavell Clinton's posts on Lifeinvader claims that he has had a ride on the Screamer.
Influence[]
- Funland appears to be based on an amalgam of amusement parks in Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York; namely Astroland and Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park. Astroland was closed indefinitely on 7th September 2008, a few months after Grand Theft Auto IV was released.
- Michelle's statement regarding the planned refurbishment of the park appears to be a reference to real life plans to renovate Coney Island.

Trivia[]
- During Departure Time, the player can set off the large spinning ride by the second van, by setting off an explosion by it or shooting it, but not during normal gameplay.
- During the same mission, if the player does the same thing to the swinging ship, it will play its music for a few seconds. Some of the small games nearby will also make sounds when damaged. If you shoot the spider ride, it will move and play the QUB3D music.
- In The Ballad of Gay Tony multiplayer, Funland is an available location for Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch.
- In one of the disused rides, the background panorama of Los Santos shows the Vinewood Sign (left), Downtown Los Santos with a Hydra (centre), and a Shamal (right).
