The Front Page Café, also referred to as the Front Page Bar, is a café featured in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
Description[]
The café is located on Ocean Drive in Ocean Beach. It is directly north of the player's first safehouse, the Ocean View Hotel.
Prominent Appearances in Gameplay[]
- Bar Brawl – Tommy Vercetti takes out guards at the café and kills members of DBP Security to force the owner to pay protection to him.
Beta Content[]
As seen in early promotional screenshots featuring the surroundings of the Ocean View Hotel, the Front Page Café was originally the site of the cut Crescent hotel, before being replaced by the Front Page Café.
The Front Page Café features an unused undetailed interior model, inaccessible to the player and without a collision model. As the building model is not double-faced, the exterior is visible from windows inside. Due to the Front Page Café replacing a previous generic hotel building specifically for this mission, it is suggested that the action in Bar Brawl was intended to take place inside this interior. The interior is partially visible from a gap in the window on the second floor.
In Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, the interior is still located inside the building. However, the interior textures have been erroneously replaced by the textures for the building exterior neon pattern, with its alpha mask turning the interior transparent. The interior is still visible from the gap in the window on the second floor.
