"When your plane goes down in the backwoods of rural San Andreas, you need to address the basics to survive. Food and water. Shelter before nightfall. And a lot of guns before the the kill squad on your tail catches up with you..."
―Description

Forest Survival is a Survival job in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the continuation of the The Diamond Casino & Resort update, released on September 26, 2019, during the Survival Series Week event. It takes place in Raton Canyon, to the north of Cassidy Creek.

Overview

The enemies are Merryweather Security. Their vehicles of choice to arrive in during later waves are the Merryweather Mesa, Rumpo Custom, and Insurgent, with them also using Buzzards and Valkyries on certain waves.

Many props, such as containers and a bus wreck, are scattered around the forest, which can be used for cover. The containers, however, are filled with other props to prevent the players from taking cover inside. A crashed plane and helicopter are also located in the map.

There is a health pack and armour pickup located near the dirt road. Another health pack is located on the southeast part of the map; and another armour pickup next to the bus wreck.

As the terrain is very uneven and there are bushes and trees scattered on the map, it may be hard to locate and kill enemies, making this map harder than others.

Tips

  • On waves with helicopters, the players may take cover inside the bus wreck. This wreck also provides adequate cover against all other enemies.
  • Another possible hold-out location is the hill to the north of the dirt road, near the edge of the play area. Here, players can pick enemies off from a distance. Cover can also be taken at the base of the hill, behind some rocks.
