Newport Condominium is an unnamed condominium building in Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, located in Newport, Staunton Island.
Description[]
The apartment is located next to the Newport Multistory Car Park and the Ammu-Nation. During the mission Espresso-2-Go!, one of espresso stalls Claude must destroy is located in the front of the building.
Influences[]
As its texture name suggest, the building is based on the Avery Condominium located at 100 Riverside Boulevard in Manhattan, New York City, without the structure in the top of the building.
Removed Face Statue[]
According to the BradyGames Official Strategy guide and the Power Station Issue 69, a giant red face statue was meant to appear in front of the condominium building. This was a likely a reference to the real life full-scale replica of Lady Liberty's Face from the Museum of the Statue of Liberty in Liberty Island, New York. The statue's model can't be found in the game files.
