The Declasse Future Shock Brutus is a custom van featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Arena War update.
Design[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The vehicle assumes the same design as the Apocalypse, but has a cleaner bodywork and underside, as well as protective frames around the front end, the cabin area and the rear compartment. Some details, like the section below the bumper and the mirror shells, have a painted finish, while the front amber lights on the grille are removed. There are also circuitry-like patterns on both bumpers.
The primary color of the vehicle is applied on the bodywork, while the secondary color is applied on the lower section and upper detail of the front bumper, the lower sides of the body, the mirror shells and the protective frames. An accent color is also available for the aforementioned circuitry-like patterns, as well as the details on the rims. It uses a set of large pyramid-shaped rims with more circuitry-like patterns on the triangular surfaces, fitted with medium-profile tires. Unlike the other variants, the tires have traditional tread patterns, in the same manner as off-road vehicles like the Bodhi and the Guardian.
The vehicle can be equipped with a left-mounted gun on the rear fender, being either a machine gun resembling a M1919 Browning or a short-barreled Browning M2HB, or a futuristic plasma/laser gun.

Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
Vehicle[]
The Brutus possess good top speed for a vehicle of its type, being on par with trucks like the Trophy Truck and the Desert Raid. While its acceleration is rather low, boost upgrades can mitigate this issue, especially the highest option available for the vehicle, in the same way as other Arena contenders. The vehicle also has good handling for off-road environments, although scoop upgrades may hinder its capabilities.
The vehicle is powered by a front engine, which cannot be seen due to the hood being permanently closed to make room for the armor options. Said engine is coupled to an 8-speed gearbox in a front engine, all wheel drive layout. The engine sound is similar to the one from vehicles like the Riata and the Barrage.
Abilities[]
- The vehicle can be installed with both "Jump" mods and "Shunt" mods. The Jump modifications come in three levels of effectiveness and can be activated using the horn button. When activated, the vehicle will be launched into the air, in a similar way to the Ruiner 2000 and Scramjet. The Shunt modifications allow the vehicle to shunt to the side.
- The vehicle can be installed with Boost upgrades. This can be used to significantly speed up the vehicle. It can be used repeatedly while driving the vehicle, but it is better to let it fully recharge for maximum efficiency.
Armor[]
While the Brutus is able to take a single explosive without being destroyed, its rather large windshield leaves the front occupants vulnerable against gunfire. The Medium and Heavy armor plating upgrades can mitigate this issue, adding a pair of panels covering the front quarters of the windshield.
Weaponry[]
- The vehicle can be fitted with a Ram Weapon. The ram weapon behaves in a similar way to the updated scoops and ramming bars of the RCV and Armored Boxville, causing a large amount of damage to other vehicles and often sending them flying into mid-air with little to no disadvantage against the vehicle itself, and no damage to the vehicle's engine whatsoever. It should be noted that the effectiveness against other players is significantly reduced compared to its effectiveness against NPCs and their vehicles.
- Mounted .50 Cal: The vehicle can be modified with a single machine gun, which behaves similarly to other front-mounted machine guns on various land vehicles, having a base damage of 30, a fire rate of 400 rounds per minute and a maximum range of 100 meters/328 feet, as well as the ability to destroy vehicles instantly upon being damaged enough, similar to mounted miniguns. It has decent firepower against players and vehicles with none or light armor, but will struggle against heavily-armored vehicles. Aiming at close range can be also tricky due to it being offset to the left.
- Mounted Laser: Like other Future Shock vehicles, the Brutus has access to a phased plasma gun, which seems to have higher fire rate but retain the same damage per round as the regular machine gun. Again, aiming targets at close ranges can be tricky due to it being offset to the left.
- The vehicle has the option for installing Proximity Mines. Unlike Weaponized Vehicles added in the Gunrunning update, the Brutus, along with all Arena Cars in the Arena War update, has five different Proximity Mine choices: Kinetic, Spike, EMP, Slick and Sticky;
- The Kinetic option (orange flashing light) creates a small impulse spreading several meters around the area, sending players and vehicles into the air. The impulse deals little damage to both players and vehicles.
- The Spike option (dark blue flashing light) bursts the tires of vehicles passing over or near it, as well as dealing a small amount of damage to the vehicle, mainly effecting the vehicle's windows, but otherwise dealing no damage or force. The mine does not burst vehicles with Bulletproof Tires installed.
- The EMP option (light blue flashing light) disables the vehicle's electronics when passing over it. The accelerator, brakes and steering, as well as the radio and other features are disabled for around 5 seconds before reactivating. It also deals a small amount of damage to players. The player will be notified by whom their vehicle was disabled by in a small notification above the radar.
- The Slick option (green flashing light) bursts a large amount of oil on the surface, causing vehicles passing over it to lose control. This deals no damage to both vehicles or players.
- The Sticky option (purple flashing light) bursts a large amount of sticky substance on the surface, causing vehicles passing over it to slow down. This deals no damage to both vehicles or players.
- The truck can also be installed with saw blades. These blades deal damage to NPCs and players, contact with the blades can instantly kill them and push light vehicles away.
