Ekanfinaka is a neighborhood located in Vice City, Vice-Dale County, Leonida, that is due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI.

Description[]

The existence of Ekanfinaka was first seen in the Grand Theft Auto VI September 2022 leaks, where the name was seen on a roadsign along Interstate 97, reachable by taking Exit 13A to Route 10.[1] This exit appears to also reach Belville, meaning the two locations are likely next to each other. Little is known about the neighborhood otherwise, and it is unknown if it is seen in other clips or trailers.

Influence[]

The neighborhood appears to be based on the Allapattah neighborhood in Miami, Florida. Both names are descendant from the Seminole Native American language (Ekanfinaka more accurately coming from Hitchiti-Mikasuki language of the Seminole people). Ekanfinaka is an older spelling of Okefenokee, a word roughly translating to "bubbling water" or a swamp. Allapattah translates to "alligator", a native species of the swamplands in the American southeast.
