Since Imponte is based off Pontiac, the Dukes may have been meant to emulate a first generation Pontiac Firebird, but it still looks closer to a Charger. The taillights have a vague resemblance to those of a 1967 Chevrolet Impala. Dukes are quite popular in the borough of [[Bohan]], and some of them are found with Roots blowers and bug-catcher scoops, all with '750 HP' written on each side - referring to its insanely powerful 750 bhp V8.

The Dukes has a large, possibly 550 cubic inch, V-8 engine producing 750bhp. Unfortunately, a lot of this is wasted because the engine is producing more power than can be transferred to the wheels, which results in wheel slip under full throttle in the low gears. The Dukes is a heavy-bodied car, and looks like it weighs approximately two tons, which makes it slow to accelerate and hard to stop from full speed. The suspension is fairly loose, and the Dukes has a tendency to slosh about during hard turns, even under low acceleration. Its rear-wheel drivetrain, coupled with the immense torque and rear differential, allows drivers to perform extremely long burnouts and donuts with relative ease. The Dukes is not a car specifically suited for street racing in a crowded urban environment, however, advanced drivers can work magic with it when they find the Dukes' comfort zone. Instead, the Dukes is more suited for long straightaways and impromptu drag races.

The Imponte Dukes is a two-door muscle car found exclusively in Grand Theft Auto IV.

Design

The Dukes is the quintessential American muscle car: aggressive 1970s styling, a large engine, and a low, roaring exhaust note. Since Imponte is based off Pontiac, the Dukes may have been meant to emulate a first generation Pontiac GTO, specifically, the front end has a strong resemblance to a 1968 Gto .However, most people will recognize the design as one of a 1969 Dodge Charger. The taillights also have a vague resemblance to those of a early Pontiac GTO. Dukes are quite popular in the borough of Bohan, and some of them are found with Roots blowers and bug-catcher scoops, all with '750 HP' written on each side - referring to its powerful 750 bhp V8.

Performance

The Dukes has a large, possibly 550 cubic inch, V-8 engine producing 750bhp. Unfortunately, a lot of this is wasted because the engine is producing more power than can be transferred to the wheels, which results in wheel slip under full throttle in the low gears. The Dukes is a heavy-bodied car, and looks like it weighs approximately two tons, which makes it slow to accelerate and hard to stop from full speed. The suspension is fairly loose, and the Dukes has a tendency to slosh about during hard turns, even under low acceleration. Its rear-wheel drivetrain, coupled with the immense torque and rear differential, allows drivers to perform long burnouts and donuts with relative ease. The Dukes is not a car specifically suited for street racing in a crowded urban environment, however, advanced drivers can work magic with it when they find the Dukes' comfort zone. Instead, the Dukes is more suited for long straightaways and impromptu drag races.
