Smoke and Mirrors is a Drift Race featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of The Chop Shop update. It is available for 1 to 8 players.
Description[]
The race is a 34-checkpoint Lap race. There is a secondary route located between checkpoints 27–29.
The starting grid is positioned on Bridge Street on the fringe of Mirror Park, facing southeast and surrounded by barriers and spectators. When the race starts, the players begin drifting into Mirror Park, soon turning left onto West Mirror Drive. They continue until the end of this road and then turn right onto Mirror Park Boulevard. They turn right immediately after passing the Mirror Park Plaza, onto Nikola Avenue, and then right again onto Bridge Street, where the first two blue pillars are located, allowing racers to obtain additional Precision Drift points.
The players then turn left and continue down West Mirror Drive, where three sets of barriers turn the road into a slalom course, with a blue pillar present at the middle set of barriers. They follow this road until it starts curving to the left, after which they turn left onto Nikola Avenue. They continue down this road for a short while and then turn right onto Mirror Place, with two more blue pillars available at the corner. The players continue down this short road, turning left at the end and continuing down West Mirror Drive once again – two blue pillars are present at the turn onto this road.
The route leads the players down the remainder of this road, where the first green drift zone is available for the players to increase their points and multiplier more quickly: the right part of the route is made tighter by barriers placed on the road. After this zone, the racers cross Mirror Park Boulevard and continue on East Mirror Drive until they come to the second junction on this road and turn right onto Nikola Place. They move towards the cul-de-sac, where they have to drift around the blue pillar in the middle of the road and return to East Mirror Drive, where they turn right.
Soon after, racers have the choice of either continuing down the remainder of this road and then turning right at the junction onto Mirror Park Boulevard, or turning right slightly before and drifting through the car park of Horny's Burgers, which serves as the second green drift zone. The players then proceed down the boulevard and into East Vinewood, where they quickly come to the third and last green zone, this being the two oncoming lanes, with a number of white and green barriers making the drifting harder.
Immediately after the green drift area, the players are met with a number of barriers positioned on the sides of the road and in the middle, as well as the two final blue pillars, one on each side of the road. They turn left onto Tangerine Street and left again onto Bridge Street, proceeding towards the start/finish line on this road.
