The #GrandTheftAuto universe lost a true legend today. Drew Larg, who memorably provided the vocal for the country track in #GTA1, passed away this morning 😢

One thing’s for sure though - Drew will never be forgotten. He’s embedded in popular culture history forever more now. I still receive messages from Grand Theft Auto fans every month saying how much they love “The Ballad Of Chapped Lips Calhoun”, e.g. this one that arrived just last week: “This is for real one of my favorite songs ever!! One time i put this on repeat on a drive back home from Denmark to germany (6 hour ride) i loved every second of it”

Even though our paths only crossed briefly, he had a huge positive impact on me - not just our work together on GTA, but all the pleasure I got listening to his band the Buzzards on a Sunday night in Chambers Bar when I first moved to Dundee too. I could never believe my luck that I got to listen to a band THAT good for the price of a few beers. Absolute musical legend, gone too soon - rest in peace sir 🫡
