The Vapid Dominator ASP is a muscle car added to Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the continuation of the Los Santos Tuners update, and due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI.
Influence[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The vehicle is mainly based on the 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R, with the bonnet and taillights inspired by the 1995 Mustang SVT Cobra R. The headlights as well as the lower grille are inspired by the ones found on the Honda Integra Type R.
Design[]
The vehicle, being a predecessor of the Dominator, shares a similar body shape and two-door layout, albeit with a slightly smaller size. The front of the car features an extender/splitter at the bottom and a wide mesh intake spanning almost the entire width of the car, having various separations on it. On the upper area, the car has a small grille with the Vapid logo on the center, while the outer sides have black housings with square-shaped units, circular units and amber indicators on the edges. The hood is very elevated and opens to reveal the engine bay and a strut brace, as well as badges on the cam covers displaying the car's name, the manufacturer logo and the engine specifications.
On the sides, the car has flared fender arches and concave shapes above the side skirts, while the front fenders have narrow exit vents. Large inset areas can be seen passing through the doors, which start fron the exit vents and reach almost towards the rear arches, while small painted door handles can be seen on the upper body lines. On the cabin area, the car features black trim around the windows, black separations for the rear-quarter windows and black mirror shells near the A-pillars, while the rearmost pillars have racing flag badges.
The rear of the car has a small trunk lid with a tall spoiler added by default, along with a dedicated section for the license plate and additional badges beside it. The outer sections house rectangular tail lights, consisting of upper main lights, middle brake lights and lower dual turn/reverse lights. The bumper has a trapezium-shaped section spanning about two thirds of the car's width and embossed lettering displaying the car's name, while a single exhaust pipe can be seen on the driver side, below the bumper.
The vehicle shares the same interior and dial set with the Sultan RS and the Sentinel XS, also having the additional gauges above the radio set. The steering wheel also bears the Vapid logo on the horn cap.
The car's bodywork and the stitches of the interior are painted in a primary color, while the secondary one seems to be only applied on any of the secondary-colored options selected in mod shops. A trim color is also available for the interior, as well as a dial color. The car uses five-spoke concave rims, wrapped in medium-profile tires.

Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Dominator ASP has great acceleration and top speed, rivalling some vehicles in the Sports class. It additionally has excellent grip, as it does not lose traction upon hard cornering at high speeds and spin out like other muscle cars in its class.
Despite having the best cornering ability of the entire muscle class, brakes seem to be just slightly below average. It takes a longer distance to stop the vehicle in a straight line, and braking while turning can sometimes lock up the brakes and cause the vehicle to understeer. It is possible to mitigate this by releasing the brakes and giving the accelerator a few jabs to straighten out.
Crash deformation is above average, as it does not lose its structural integrity upon small impacts and will continue to run even after 2-5 high speed impacts.
The vehicle features a modeled V8 engine with a single bank of cams on either side of the engine. On the top end is a large supercharger with an air filter on the intake, wrapped with red filter paper. The engine sound seems to be a mix between the traditional muscle car sound from the Dominator, the Vigero and the Ruiner, and the modern one from the Imperator, the Tulip and the Gauntlet Classic. The badges indicates that the Dominator ASP is powered by a 450cui (7.4L) supercharged engine. A 5-speed gearbox and a RWD layout come as standard.

Locations[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- Available for purchase from Southern San Andreas Super Autos for $1,775,000 or for $1,331,250 after unlocking its trade price through gaining LS Car Meet Reputation.
Events[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- Could be won through completing the thirteenth Prize Ride Challenge, which required the player to place top 3 in 6 LS Car Meet Series races (Street Race Series or Pursuit Race Series) during the week.
Radio Stations[]
- In Grand Theft Auto Online, the default radio stations are grouped by genre. The Dominator ASP uses the "Dance" group which can play:
- FlyLo FM
- Soulwax FM
- Los Santos Underground Radio (Enhanced Editions only. May not play due to a three station limit within the group)
- Music Locker Radio (Enhanced Editions only)
- Media Player (Enhanced Editions only. May not play due to a three station limit within the group)
Oversights[]
- The hood stripe of the "Fukaru Race Livery" has a slight offset to the passenger side.
- When selecting the "Exhausts" category in a mod shop, the camera becomes twitchy and unresponsive, and will move itself back to the rear of the car if the player attempts to turn the camera around. This issue is more noticeable in smaller garages, such as the Los Santos Customs shop on Route 68 or Beeker's Garage in Paleto Bay.
- The "GT Hood" subset in the "Hoods" category feature their own set of hood pins, resulting in intersecting hood pins if an option from the "Hood Catches" category is selected.
Trivia[]
- Asp is the modern anglicisation of the word "aspis", which referred to the Egyptian cobra in Ancient Greek[2]. Thus, the ASP name could be a reference to its real-life inspiration, the Mustang Cobra.
- The "Not Tonight Pizzaboy" livery is derived from the one with the same name for the Elegy Retro Custom, which is based on the custom yellow Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R in 2001 movie, The Fast & The Furious. The livery name is a reference to the quote "Street's closed, pizzaboy" from said movie.
- The "Simple Race Livery" is based on the 2001 SCCA San Francisco Regional T1 racing version of the 2000 Mustang SVT Cobra R.
- The "Aggressor" front bumpers resemble an upside-down variant of that found on the contemporary Saleen Mustang S281.
