Performance[]
The DH-7 Iron Mule is a large transport helicopter designed for heavy lifting. Despite its size, it has strong acceleration and a high top speed, especially compared to helicopters with similar roles, such as the Cargobob. The helicopter's handling is responsive, allowing for quick mid-air turns and rapid adjustments to pitch and elevation. However, its large size can pose challenges when attempting to hook onto vehicles in dense urban environments.
Like the RM-10 Bombushka and Avenger, the DH-7 Iron Mule can withstand direct head-on collisions with obstacles with minimal engine damage. Repeated impacts will, however, eventually cause the engine to stutter and occasionally stall, putting the aircraft and players in jeopardy when carrying heavier vehicles. The helicopter can be equipped with countermeasures such as flares or chaff but lacks any offensive capabilities.
The DH-7 Iron Mule features a cargo hook similar to that of the Cargobob and its variants, but its tether is significantly longer, allowing for easier vehicle attachment while keeping the rotor at a safer distance. Like the Cargobob, the helicopter can carry even the heaviest of vehicles, such as buses and tanks, with minimal impact on speed and acceleration.
