The album features reimagined versions of the Grand Theft Auto Online Official Score, remixed by American funk musician and composer DāM-FunK, who previously composed Grand Theft Auto Online: The Contract - Official Score with The Alchemist in 2021.

It includes remixed versions of in-game mission score tracks composed by HEALTH, Oh No, James Curd, Show Me the Body, Holy Fuck, Take A Daytrip, Nick Hook, Soulwax, Keinemusik, and DāM-FunK himself.

Also on the same date, the track "SOUTHSIDE" by BEAM and Cardo (featured in the trailer for The Chop Shop update and sampling Take A Daytrip's original version of the "Import/Export" score) was made available on digital streaming platforms.

The album appears in Grand Theft Auto Online as an album composed by an in-universe version of DāM-FunK to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the in-game radio station West Coast Classics hosted by DJ Pooh. As part of the promotion, DJ Pooh has hidden Media Sticks containing the Even the Score mixtape recorded during the station's 10th anniversary party, featuring DāM-FunK as the DJ and some special guests including Snoop Dogg, and cameo appearances by Franklin Clinton and Lamar Davis. Once unlocked, the tracks can be listened to on the Media Player station.
