The Pfister Comet Retro Custom is a custom sports car featured in Grand Theft Auto Online.
Description[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Comet Retro Custom was added as part of the Import/Export update and released on December 22nd, 2016, during the Festive Surprise 2016 event.
Grand Theft Auto VI[]
The car appears, stopped in the middle of an intersection, in the first trailer (1:07).
In comparison to its appearance in GTA Online, the car features an engine bay grille, a new stock duck-tail spoiler, longer rear quarter glass, and a different set of stock rims. The stock side skirts and splitter have also been removed, to an extent.
Influence[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Comet Retro Custom is heavily based on the Porsche 964, fitted with the RAUH-Welt Begriff (RWB) widebody kit. Some elements come from the Porsche 993, such as the headlights and side skirts. The front bumper seems to be taken directly from the Yoshida Specials Porsche 930. The ducktail spoiler may be based on the 1973 Martini Porsche Carrera RSR, although scaled down. The tail lights may also be based on the later variants of the Porsche 928.
Liveries[]
- The Tenshun livery is based on the Martini Porsche 911 RSR.
- The Xero Gas livery is based on the Navision Porsche 911 GT2.
Design[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Comet Retro Custom is a retro body-kitted variant of the Comet, which shares similar design cues with the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City rendition of the aforementioned car, albeit retaining some aspects from the HD Universe versions, such as the solid roof and relatively short length.
The front of the car is largely predominated by the custom bumper, which features a bolt-on plastic extension, a mesh intake on the centre and an upper section with a plastic fitting spanning the body of the car. Right beside the central intake, there is a set of dual circular fog lamps, which are located behind glass casings and featuring plastic trim around the outer lamps and casings. Next to the fog lamps and around the front quarters of the car, there is a set of plastic fins/canards curved upwards. The upper area consists of the main circular headlamps with plastic surroundings, as well as the front boot bearing the Pfister logo, that also reveals a carpeted compartment with a strut brace over it.
The sides of the car are mostly dominated by the bolt-on wide fender arches, together with bolt-on plastic skirts at the bottom and plastic fittings around the car's wide arches. The greenhouse area is relatively similar to the Comet, having plastic trim around the windows and body-coloured mirror shells, but the windows appear to be slightly taller and the rear-quarter windows being slightly shorter.
The rear of the car features a small engine compartment with a ducktail spoiler and the corresponding badges on a black vented section of the engine compartment, while the tail lamps can be seen on the outer edges, being stretched and slightly smaller variations of the Comet's. The bumper is relatively bulky and has a license plate on the centre and two exhaust tubes below it.
The interior of the car shares the same textures and dials as the standard Comet, but has a shorter steering column, different steering wheel, standard seats and inclined central console, where the radio set and the gear stick are located. The interior can be also modified to feature numerous race-type components and a digital display in place of the standard analog dials, in a similar manner to vehicles like the RE-7B and the ETR1.
The primary colour of the car is applied on the body and the stitching, while the secondary colour is applied in the form of side stripes near the skirts, the front boot, the cabin and part of the rear engine compartment. The vehicle also has a trim colour for the doors and the seats, along with a dial colour. The stock rims are a variant of the "Ruff Weld" sport rims available at Los Santos Customs, wrapped in Atomic low-profile tyres with detailed tread pattern, similar to the Tropos Rallye and Omnis. These rims can also support a dedicated colour, although only models generated in the Content Creator may have a colour. Additionally, the rear wheels are wider.

Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
Similar to the relationship between the Elegy RH8 and Elegy Retro Custom, the Comet Retro Custom becomes slightly slower after the conversion at Benny's Original Motor Works. Many features are retained from the standard Comet, including its wheelspin and generally loose handling. The vehicle is hard to handle, as hard turns often cause the back end to spin out. The acceleration is delayed due to wheelspin off the line, while the top speed is not outstanding. The Comet Retro Custom is not very suitable for competitive racing due to its lacking performance; however it is still generally decent in the Sports class.
Contrary to the Comet's single cam V8, the Comet Retro Custom sports a flat 6 (also known as a boxer 6) engine with a similar layout of that in the Comet Safari. It also has two radiators and the engine's set of timing belt and pulleys, very similar to that of the FrƤnken Stange. The Comet's engine and exhaust tips also shake around inside the engine bay when the player starts/revs the engine. The engine sound is similar to that of the Comet, albeit with a lower pitch and louder revving sound.

Locations[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- Can be converted from a Comet at Benny's Original Motor Works for $645,000.
- Comets stolen from NPCs or from the streets cannot be converted as they are deemed "too hot" to modify.
Radio Stations[]
- In Grand Theft Auto Online, the default radio stations are grouped by genre. The Comet Retro Custom uses the "Pop" group which can play:
Trivia[]
- Several liveries include multiple conflicting brands, for example iFruit and Facade both appearing on the Retro Racer livery and Xero and Globe Oil both appearing on the Xero Gas livery.
- The advertisement it is seen in parodies the styling of actual Porsche ads, even going far enough to use a similar font.
- Despite the vehicle being rear wheel drive, the underside features a driveshaft connected to the front ones, as if were all wheel drive. This is possibly due to reused assets with the standard Comet, which also has this issue.
- Despite having a rear license plate, there is no plate option in mod shops.
Bugs/Glitches[]
- The driver-side window has a minor modelling issue, as part of the glass appears to be dented.
- Several liveries are off-center, which can be seen from the hood. In addition, some liveries are aparallel, for example the Meinmacht livery, which is higher on one side.
