Cluckin' Bell is a fast food restaurant chain appearing in the HD Universe of the Grand Theft Auto series.
Description[]
Cluckin' Bell was founded in 1917 by the likely founder Charles K. Bell, seeing as he is mentioned as the "King of the Cock" when being advertised as a special guest judge on the Annual Paleto Poultry Pageant. The chain has a central farm and manufacturing plant for their products in Paleto Bay, San Andreas named Clucking Bell Farms.
Grand Theft Auto IV[]
Cluckin' Bell appears in GTA IV as a place for the player to regain health by eating food. However, the player can only buy a "Fowl Burger" (a play on "foul", meaning disgusting, and "fowl", a bird) for $1 which will fully restore the player's health. Cluckin' Bell also advertises a new non-interactive product, the Stuffed Pollo Todo Frito (literally Fried Chicken Stuffed with Everything), which is a whole deep fried chicken stuffed with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn, a parody of KFC's "Famous Bowl (or Chicken Bowl outside the United States)".
As with GTA IV and EFLC's Burger Shot locations, two possible employees will serve the player behind the counter, either an Eastern European woman or an African-American man. More employees can be seen using the appliances in the kitchen behind the counter. Like with Burger Shot employees, if the player is unruly, the cashier will cross their arms and refuse to serve the player.
Also in GTA IV, the player can download a Cluckin' Bell theme for their upgraded phone via the website www.vipluxuryringtones.com. Cluckin' Bell is also a favourite eating spot for Little Jacob and Dwayne Forge. Other additions include certain Benson trucks that feature Cluckin' Bell's signage, as well as an interesting addition of accessible toilets in Cluckin' Bell outlets separated for both men and women (labelled "Cocks" and "Chicks" respectively).
The Cluckin' Bell location in The Triangle plays music from Liberty Rock Radio, while the Cerveza Heights plays Radio Broker. The chain is Little Jacob and Dwayne Forge's favorite place to eat.
Inside every restaurant are four Cluck Norris figures, each inside a glass cabinet:
- One is on the left of the entrance.
- The second hangs on the left of the counter.
- The third is placed at the right wall of the elevated platform.
- The last one hangs on the right wall of the main refectory.
Cluckin' Bell in GTA Chinatown Wars is less significant, appearing only as a non-interactive and inaccessible part of the cityscape. Yankee trucks in the game may also bear Cluckin' Bell liveries, appearing in yellow and bearing the Cluckin' Bell logo on its sides.
Grand Theft Auto V[]
Cluckin' Bell returns to Grand Theft Auto V, but their restaurants are no longer accessible. Cluckin' Bell has a factory, Clucking Bell Farms, based in Paleto Bay. Trailers with their branding are towed in and out of the factory, as well as along highways around San Andreas.
A small drive-thru vendor in Strawberry is nicknamed "The Coop".
The player can buy stocks from them on lcn-exchange.com. In the aftermath of The Paleto Score, due to the shootout inside their factory and the destruction of the surrounding area, Cluckin' Bell stocks will plummet by approximately 39.99% upon completion of the mission. This stock will remain at its depressed value until completion of The Third Way, where it will shoot up by approximately 66.89%.
GTA V introduces a new direct competitor, Taco Bomb, while other competitors stand as Burger Shot, Pizza This... and Up-n-Atom Burger.
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
In Grand Theft Auto Online, circa 2020, their factory is raided during a Business Battle.
In 2024, during the events of The Cluckin' Bell Farm Raid, the factory is being used as a front by a Latin American cartel for drug manufacturing and distribution, alluding to Los Pollos Hermanos from Breaking Bad.
Influence[]
Cluckin' Bell is most likely based on fast food chicken chain KFC, with the logo and advertising taking influence from Taco Bell. Taco Bell uses a bell logo, KFC serves fried chicken, and both companies are owned by the same parent corporation. The chain's color scheme is also shared with that of the old pre-2019 Church's Chicken logo, the similarity is even closer in the new logo introduced in the The Chop Shop update in Grand Theft Auto Online, whose font is almost identical. The franchise may also take influence from Cluck-U Chicken, as both names are minced oaths.
The chain's name may come from a quote from the episode "Goodbyeee" of British comedy series Blackadder Goes Forth, which contains the line "I think the phrase rhymes with clucking bell", a censored form of the phrase fucking hell.
The closed down Cluckin' Bell outlet in Algonquin may be a reference to an infamous KFC/Taco Bell location in Manhattan, which suffered a serious rodent infestation in early 2007, resulting in the location permanently closing.
The chain's mascot, "Cluck Norris", is a reference to film/television star and martial artist Chuck Norris.

Locations[]
Grand Theft Auto IV[]
Unlike Cluckin' Bell in GTA San Andreas and its indirect competition in GTA IV, Burger Shot, which operates 10 outlets, Cluckin' Bell's presence in the game is far more limited, with only four outlets throughout Liberty City and Alderney State, of which only two are accessible to the player. The in-game website craplist.net includes a post that mentions a Hove Beach branch, but no such branch exists in the game.
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars[]
While GTA Chinatown Wars features the same outlets existing at the same locations in Dukes and Algonquin, the Berchem outlet is absent as Alderney is not included in the game's setting.
Grand Theft Auto V and Online[]
Cluckin' Bell operates three outlets in Los Santos, none of which are accessible to the player. An unused Police Scanner audio file mentions a Cluckin' Bell restaurant in Mirror Park. However, the location is not present in the game. It is possible that this location was replaced by Horny's Burgers.

Trivia[]
- From July 21 to July 24 of 2022, a real-life Cluckin' Bell pop-up restaurant opened in Poway, California[1][2], operating out of Smokin' J's BBQ restaurant[3]. The restaurant featured a full Cluckin' Bell menu, employees in full Cluckin' Bell employee attire, bottles of Sprunk, and a "Do Not Serve" warning poster of Trevor Philips. The project was operated by artist group and fashion brand Boy Worldwide[4] to coincide with the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con and promote their brand and was not believed to be officially endorsed or sponsored by Rockstar Games.
Grand Theft Auto V[]
- The interior of the Cluckin' Bell Restaurant was actually modeled in the game files, implying that it was cut out of the final release.[5]
