Option A: Prologue - Something Sensible (non-canon) Michael De Santa is a retired bank robber, who, after making a deal with the FIB, moves alongside his family to Los Santos, where they live in a nice mansion. Unfortunately, his wife, Amanda, repeatedly spends his money and the family has became largely dysfunctional over the years. After getting on the wrong side of a Mexican Cartel leader, Michael is forced to return to criminal life once more, this time, aided by his protege and up-and-coming criminal Franklin Clinton. After his first job, he is joined by former friend Trevor Phillips. Despite a rift in their friendship after several jobs, including stealing a superweapon from the government, raiding a county bank & a research lab for the FIB, they banded together with Franklin and Lester to pull off a final heist. These endings include a series of difficulties as the relationship with his son can be affected, whereas if Michael kills himself/dies, the relationship with his family will be forever forgotten... Ending A: Michael assists Franklin in killing Trevor for Steve Haines. Ending B: Michael is betrayed by Franklin under the orders of Devin Weston and is either killed or commits suicide whilst hanging over a balcony. Ending C: Michael, Trevor and Franklin band together one last time to ambush two corrupt government hit squads led by Merryweather Security, ordered by Devin Weston, and an FIB squad sent by Steve Haines at a foundry. Michael kills Stretch for Franklin, Franklin kills Wei Cheng for Trevor and Trevor kills Haines for Michael; all three then take out Devin Weston together. Option A: Franklin and Lamar - Something Sensible (non-canon) Franklin Clinton is a young African-American man who dreams of becoming big-time in Los Santos, in a world where the glory days of street gangs has long passed. He works as a repo man for a luxury car dealership, but his ambition makes him tired of the job. Franklin soon strikes up a friendship with Michael, one of his repossession victims, who coincidentally got him fired. He helps the once-successful bank robber, and the two form a strange but close father-son relationship. When they execute a jewelry store heist, they are joined by Michael's ex-partner Trevor Phillips. The trio pull off several jobs, and Trevor and Franklin additionally do one job together. Franklin eventually acts as a go-between when Trevor and Michael fall out, however they are able to put their differences aside temporarily to pull off a final heist. Ending A: Franklin, with the help of Michael, is ordered to kill Trevor for Steve Haines. Ending B: Franklin betrays Michael under the orders of Devin Weston and Michael is either killed or commits suicide whilst hanging over a balcony. Ending C: Michael, Trevor and Franklin band together one last time to ambush two corrupt government hit squads led by Merryweather Security, ordered by Devin Weston, and an FIB squad sent by Steve Haines at a foundry. Option A: Prologue* - Something Sensible (killed/non-canon) Trevor Philips is a mentally unstable redneck and bank robber. A former military pilot, he based himself in Sandy Shores, where he founded "Trevor Philips Enterprises", which mainly deals with weapons and drugs. After learning of the jewelry store heist in Los Santos, Trevor realises that his supposedly deceased partner Michael is alive and well, and sets out to find him. After finding his old friend in Los Santos, the two, aided by Franklin Clinton, are forced to pull off jobs for corrupt FIB agent Steve Haines. Trevor soon discovers that Michael had betrayed him nine years ago, and the two have a bitter falling out. Fortunately, they manage to put their differences aside in order to pull off a final heist. Ending A: Trevor is betrayed by Franklin and is killed by him and Michael for Steve Haines. Ending B: Michael is betrayed by Franklin under the orders of Devin Weston and is either killed or commits suicide whilst hanging over a balcony. Franklin initially reached out to Trevor for assistance, but he refused to participate. He later calls Franklin after Michael has been killed, rebuking him for killing their friend; the two then cease contact. Ending C: Michael, Trevor and Franklin band together one last time to ambush two corrupt government hit squads led by Merryweather Security, ordered by Devin Weston, and an FIB squad sent by Steve Haines at a foundry. Michael kills Stretch for Franklin, Franklin kills Wei Cheng for Trevor and Trevor kills Haines for Michael; all three then take out Devin Weston together. | Lester Crest |
Options A & B: Friend Request - The Big Score (non-canon) Option C: Friend Request - The Third Way Lester Crest is an old friend of Michael's and is the mastermind behind the heists Michael, Franklin and Trevor pull off. He also issues assassination missions to Franklin. He is the deuteragonist to all three characters. Ending A: Lester will send Michael and Franklin their cuts from their final score as well as dividing Trevor's cut among them seeing as he had died, he messages the two saying that he hopes they had nothing to do with his death. He will later e-mail both and says he knows they did it, that he understands it had to be done, and will not contact either again. Ending B: Lester will send Franklin and Trevor their cuts saying his Michael's family will get his cut as it feels like the right thing to do, he messages the two saying he hopes they had nothing to do with his death. Ending C: Lester will brainstorm the foundry ambush and tracks down all four targets. He will also give all three characters their cuts afterwards. Voiced by Jay Klaitz |

| Dave Norton |
David "Dave" Norton is an agent with the FIB and good friend of Michael. He arranged Michael's witness protection and writes to Trevor under the guise of Brad, who he killed in the cash depot ambush when he got in the way of a shot on Trevor. He gives jobs to Michael, Franklin and Trevor in 2013. He goes with Steve Haines when he tells Franklin to kill Trevor. In Endings A and B, his career will fail and will retire on no pension. In Ending C, he will do well in his work situation and gets Steve Haines' TV show position. Ending A & B: His career will fail and he will resign from the FIB. In Ending B, he will e-mail Trevor about the Brad emails and tells him to stay away. Ending C: He will email Michael to say he is getting Steve's TV show, and does well at work. He will call him later to say proper goodbyes and will also email Trevor about Brad's letters and tells him to stay away. Voiced by Julian Gamble | |

| Lamar Davis |
Option C: Franklin and Lamar - The Third Way (in this ending friendship activities can be done after the final mission with Franklin and Trevor)' Lamar Davis is one of Franklin's best friends. Described as "crazy", Lamar has opposing ideals with Franklin, often leading to arguments between the two. He will work with Trevor and they become friends. Lamar has to get protection and hide when Stretch turns on him in Endings A and B, but will assist Franklin, Michael and Trevor in the ambush. He will stay friends with Franklin and Trevor after the final mission. Ending A and B: Lamar will call Franklin to say Stretch was 'janky' and that he can't be outside during the day. But they can still hangout at night. In Ending B, Trevor cannot hang out with him. Ending C: Lamar will assist the trio on their ambush, and will stay friends with Trevor and Franklin. Option C: Three's Company - The Third Way (killed) Steven "Steve" Haines is a highly decorated, yet highly corrupt agent from the FIB. Using his position as Dave Norton's superior, Haines uses Michael, Franklin and Trevor to help him undermine the IAA. In Ending A he will order Trevor's killing, tell Weston to back down about Michael, and will force Dave Norton to resign. Steve Haines is the secondary antagonist of the game. Ending A: He will order Franklin to kill Trevor, and then tells Devin Weston to back down because of Merryweather shutting down. Ending B: Devin Weston will tell Haines to back down so Trevor would stay alive. Ending C: Haines will send an FIB hit squad to the foundry, and then gets killed by Trevor at Del Perro Pier. Option C: By the Book - The Third Way (killed) Devin Weston is a billionaire businessman with a stake in many San Andreas businesses, including Merryweather Security. Introduced by Steve Haines, Michael, Franklin and Trevor work for him but quickly turn against him after Weston refuses to pay the trio and after Michael disobeys his wishes for the Richards Majestic studios. Devin Weston is the main antagonist of the game. Voiced by Jonathan Walker |

| Amanda De Santa |
Amanda De Santa is the wife of Michael, and the mother of Jimmy and Tracey. She was once very close to her husband, but their relationship became shaky, and Amanda started to waste most of their money. She also partakes in many different affairs due to her "boredness". After falling out with Michael following a conflict between him and her yoga practitioner, she leaves the DeSanta Residence with Tracey and Jimmy and remains absent for quite some time. Eventually Amanda and Michael set aside their differences and reunite the family, resuming their relationship as well. Ending B: She will email Franklin and tells him that she hopes he rots in hell. Ending A & C: Will have a very friendly relationship with Michael. Voiced by Vicki Van Tassel | |
| Jimmy De Santa |
James "Jimmy" De Santa is the son of Michael and Amanda, and the brother of Tracey. A young man in his early 20s, Jimmy is a lazy smoker who, like other members of his family, has a confused relationship with his father. Ending A: Won't hangout with Michael due to his involvement in Trevor's death but he still will hangout with Franklin, because Jimmy does not know that Franklin was also involved. Ending B: Won't hangout with Franklin or Trevor, due to Jimmy being angry towards Franklin for killing Michael, and not speaking to Trevor. Ending C: Will stay friends will all three protagonists. | Tracey De Santa |
Tracey De Santa is the daughter of Michael and Amanda, and the sister of Jimmy. She has a very bad relationship with her parents, particularly her mother who dislikes Tracey's boyfriend, calling him a "bum". Her relationship with her father is also far from perfect. In retaliation for Trevor ruining his prospects to do business in Blaine County, he arranges to have Michael kidnapped in an effort to lure Trevor in. Options A & B: Mr. Philips - Derailed (non-canon) Option C: Mr. Philips - The Third Way (only if going after Haines first) Ronald "Ron" Jakowski is a friend of Trevor and a fellow redneck living in a trailer located in Sandy Shores, Blaine County. He is a very paranoid conspiracy theorist and hosts a radio show on Blaine County Talk Radio. Ending A: Will email Michael cursing him about killing Trevor. Ending B: Won't mention Michael's death, messages Trevor and leaves the Hotrod ATV outside his trailer. Ending C: He will be called during the mission and TPE will stay up and running strong, and will leave the ATV outside Trevor's trailer after the final mission. Voiced by David Mogentale | |
