The Brute Camper is a motorhome appearing in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online.
The Camper previously appeared in both the 3D Universe and the 2D Universe where it took the design of a small camper passenger van, a role replaced by the Surfer in the HD Universe.
Influence[]
Given the fact it shares the main cab with the first generation Burrito, the Camper is based on a 1996-2002 Chevrolet Express.
Design[]
The Camper in Grand Theft Auto V and Online assumes a larger appearance than the previous renditions, acquiring the form of a recreational vehicle, specifically a Class-C motorhome, which essentially replaces the role its counterpart, the Journey, had in the 3D Universe. Although it is heavily considered as the successor of the Journey, the Camper only takes the role of a Class C motorhome, since the Journey returns as a Class A motorhome (albeit in a rusty/worn appearance).
The Camper assumes a large and wide chassis with similar proportions to the Tourbus and the Ambulance, where the bottom sides feature large side steps. The rear compartment makes use of several windows and small compartments on the lower portions, as well as a side awning and an unusable access door on the passenger side. The roof area features small hatches/vents and a metal bar on the rear portion, while the rear end is flat and features a vented detail below the window, square tail lights on either side, a central section for the license plate, and a silver/chrome bumper at the bottom that is fitted with a rack. The Camper also has unknown window tint applied to its rear windows as default.[1]
The Camper may spawn with open and closed curtains for the windows, and it has five different liveries, mainly consisting of stripes with "Camper by Brute" markings. The vehicle only spawns in a white primary color on the whole body, and it uses the same industrial wheels as the Burrito and its derivatives.
Performance[]
The Camper's performance is expected for a recreational vehicle of its size. While it can achieve good top speeds, acceleration is below average due to its large compartment and the front wheel drivetrain. Its handling is roughly similar to that of the Ambulance.
The Camper is powered by a turbocharged inline-4 mounted transversely, coupled to a 4-speed gearbox in a front engine, front wheel drive layout. Like the Ambulance, the badges indicate it has a 4.5L turbo-diesel engine. In the original version, the vehicle shares the same engine sound as the Burrito, the Pony and the Speedo, while in the enhanced version, it shares the same sound as the Journey and the Surfer.
