GTA Wiki Update

After an eventful weekend dealing with an attempted coup by the Bots, we are happy to announce that order has been restored and the binary "monobook-like" theme has been removed. We trust everyone has had a good April Fools day.

Please do stay tuned though, as the Dark and Light themes will be changing for real in the not-too-distant future.

The Manhunt Wiki has an article on:

Camhedz, stylized in all caps "CAMHEDZ", is a 2-player arcade minigame in Grand Theft Auto Online. The game is an in-universe ROM hack of Badlands Revenge II, developed by Pixtro. It was released on October 21, 2021, as part of the continuation of the Los Santos Tuners update, during the GTA Online Bonuses (October 2021 Part 3) event.

The Camhedz arcade cabinet can only be purchased by arcade owners during the last week of October, while Halloween events are active.

Description

The minigame is featured as part of the Los Santos Tuners update, as a light gun shooting gallery. The game is an in-universe ROM hack of Badlands Revenge II, and its main artwork being a vandalised version of Badlands Revenge II artwork featuring Manhunt characters, and its gameplay is almost copied from the said game, with all characters, scenarios and weapons being replaced by the ones from Manhunt.

The title is named after the Camheds, a cut hunter gang originally meant to appear in Rockstar Games' 2003 survival horror videogame, Manhunt. The game features a protagonist with a surveillance camera placed on his head, a clear nod to the said gang member, while his outfit and shotgun are similar to the ones from James Earl Cash, the protagonist in Manhunt[1].

Gameplay

Similar to Badlands Revenge II, Camhedz requires the player going through a series of dystopian stages to eliminating enemies, and has pickups throughout each stage that can give health, invincibility, or other gun types. However, the game has several settings that differ from Badlands Revenge II, including:

  • Different Health Points system.[citation/verification needed]
  • Infinite ammo of pistol.
  • Throwing weapons. The player can use bricks as default to freeze the enemies when thrown, yet it has a short cooldown before they can throw it again. The player can also pick up other types of weapons throughout each stage.
  • Costumed Weirdos (as mentioned in Awards). The White Rabbit-looking girl and the Monkeys feature in the gameplay, similar to the hostages in Badlands Revenge II. However, different to the latter, these characters can be shot by the player to gain the "Monkey See Monkey Do" award.
    • The mice in Badlands Revenge II are also featured, yet there are no effects when the player shoots them.
  • Bearsy, the final boss. He appears in "The Hurd" stage, attacking the player by throwing meats and bones when he moves at a distance, or using a chainsaw when closer to the screen. Bearsy is almost invincible, yet vulnerable when he flashes green, which is when the player needs to shoot him. If the player acts too slow or runs out of time, Bearsy will attack.
