For the taxi company, see Borgnine Taxis.
The Borgnine is a bonus taxi available in Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto Advance.
Design[]
Grand Theft Auto III[]
The Borgnine in Grand Theft Auto III is a modified Cabbie with bloody spikes on the front and rear bumpers. It spawns in a dark red primary color for the body and a gray secondary color for the bumpers.
Grand Theft Auto Advance[]
The Grand Theft Auto Advance rendition retains some of the features from the GTA III rendition, though lacking the spikes on the bumpers. It also serves as the only other taxi (other than the game's Taxi), being the only Cabbie in that game, making the vehicle somewhat special in both games since it is a bonus in both games and is a unique modeled Cabbie.

Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto III[]
The Borgnine's handling and acceleration are far superior to the Cabbie model it is based on. While it may appear to be heavy, its AWD layout and increased top speed help it navigate traffic with ease, while also being able to survive multiple collisions. Therefore, the Borgnine is much better suited for avoiding wanted levels than similar vehicles of its type, such as the Cabbie and Taxi.
The Borgnine uses a petrol engine and a 4-speed gearbox that powers all wheels. It also shares the engine sound with the regular Cabbie.

Trivia[]
General[]
- The Borgnine's name is a homage to the actor Ernest Borgnine, who starred in the 1981 movie Escape from New York as a cab driver named "Cabbie" in a prison-converted Manhattan; in the movie, Cabbie also drives a Checker Marathon from which the Cabbie and Borgnine are based on. The Borgnine's bumpers are perhaps a nod to Cabbie's hazardous profession in the crime-infested prison.
Grand Theft Auto III[]
- Like the Cabbie, the passengers will pass through its rear fender when getting in.
- The bloody spikes are probably a reference to the 1997's game Carmageddon.
