Wikipedia has an article on: Bootsy Collins

William Earl "Bootsy" Collins (born October 26, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio) is an American singer and funk bassist.

Career[]

Collins formed his first band, The Pacesetters, in 1968, along with his brother, Phelps "Catfish" Collins, on guitar, Frankie "Kash" Waddy on drums, and Philippe Wynne. From 1969 to 1971, the band performed as the accompaniment for James Brown, renaming themselves to The J.B.'s . After briefly creating a new band, House Guests and releasing several singles, Collins joined George Clinton's Parliament-Funkadelic at the behest of singer and future Parliament member Mallia Franklin. Four years later, along with a number of other Parliament members, Collins formed Bootsy's Rubber Band, a separate touring unit of Clinton's collective. His first five albums were associated with the Warner Bros. Records music label, branching out to different labels by the late '80s and early '90s. Since then, Collins has made a myriad of collaborations with different artists and projects, culminating in the founding of "Funk University", an online-only bass-guitar school. Along with 15 other members of Parliament/Funkadelic, Collins was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

He voices himself as the radio DJ of Space 103.2 in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online.
