History[]
Events of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas[]
In 1992 he had wanted to call the show Stack the Dex, but was unable to change the name. He interviewed Jack Howitzer on his show, and later planned to interview French chef Richard Goblin.
During his interview with Howitzer, they play the trailer for his upcoming film Special Needs Cop, only to be completely disgusted by the insenstive content. He then claims that Howitzer is out of touch and that things are more sensitive in 1992. This angers Howitzer, who threatens him with a submachine gun. Howitzer then forces Billy to touch his genitalia to dispel a previous accusation Billy made, that steroids have shrunk his genitals, before fatally and accidentally shooting him in the head with the gun (which he thought wasn't loaded).
Howitzer is later put on trial for the murder of Dexter, who was later replaced by Lazlow Jones as the new host of Entertaining America.
He is evidently a follower of the Epsilon Program as he can frequently be heard saying the name of the cult's supposed celestial deity, Kifflom.
HD Universe[]
In Grand Theft Auto V, a Weazel News report mentions an incident in the early 1990s, in which Jack Howitzer accidentally killed an unidentified radio host. This is a reference to the previous incarnation of Jack Howitzer's character in the 3D Universe accidentally shooting Billy Dexter. However, as Dexter is not mentioned by name and this event happened in a different continuity of the series, there is no evidence through dialogue that confirms Billy Dexter has ever existed in the HD Universe.
He is on of the honored celebrities on the Vinewood Walk of Fame.
